Honestly wish all the leagues had the balls to say **** off to FIFA and start again basically. They have a lot of support because they give a lot of money to minnow nations in Asia, Africa, Oceania etc.

Europe could just go off by itself we don't need FIFA for ****.

EDIT: They give a lot of money (bungs) to minnow nations' officials, not sure how much money the actual country sees or the improvement it has.

"Football's world governing body has rules against players wearing "political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images," and has deemed that the poppy falls foul of those criteria." I do not want to talk politics, but how is a poppy political? Is it just because we thought of it and it works, indeed it is a fantastic commemorative emblem, and one that other countries did not think of or take up?

The really scandalous thing is that FIFA had a hissy fit when the media took the piss out of their stance before the game. They said it was being blown out of proportion and claimed they hadn't already deemed it to be against the rules, and wouldn't tell England whether it was a rule breach or not until after the event. ****s.
