Agree with all of that.
Kane is a good finisher and that is priceless I admit, but his first touch is generally horrendous and I'm not convinced he's good enough for International football.

Taking Rooney off when we needed to retain possession was about as mind blowingly stupid as giving the corners to Kane. Wilshire should have replaced Alli who did little and possibly isn't quite up to it yet either. Wilshire should start in his place against Wales.

Dier is very good in that position.

 

England should have been out of sight in that one.
Maybe it's just me but I really don't rate Sterling as an England player, another Matt Phillips.

He played well first half, but he just lacks that end product a lot of the time.

 

I suppose this performance is out on context with all opening games in previous competitions.......

Frustrating in the extreme. Had a sense of foreboding we'd get caught out at the end. Mindless substitutions and as for Sterling, he's in danger of becoming another SWP, too much of no end product...

Sadly true. Hard supporting QPR and England but those are our teams and will be forever, rain or shine.

 

I predicted the score in our poll.
As much as l wanted England to win, with having Roy as manager, sadly, I can't see England having any real success.
It's not how Roy does it.
You don't need any Aussie for this one, just a manager who will match the enthusiasm and the potential of his players.

 

Terrible scenes inside and outside the stadium ! Just makes me sick and angry to see this happening again ! So so sad and depressing.

Both of whom are technically British citizens. I watched the game in an Irish pub in Brussels and the whole pub were genuinely gutted that England didn't win. I don't deny there are a minority in Ireland who wouldn't like to see England do well but......they are an extreme minority and tend to be Republicans.
