Uruguay actually play Jordan. No doubt there'll be plenty of references to the Middle-Eastern country's 'formidable pair up front'
Anyway, here are the 21 teams so far who have qualified: UEFA: Belgium - Group A winners Italy - Group B winners Germany - Group C winners Netherlands - Group D winners Switzerland - Group E winners Russia - Group F winners Bosnia Herzegovina - Group G winners England - Group H winners Spain - Group I winners CONMEBOL: Brazil - hosts Argentina - winners Colombia - runners up Chile Ecuador CONCACAF: USA - winners Costa Rica - runners up Honduras CAF: Qualifying not yet completed AFC: South Korea - Group A winners Iran - Group A runners up Australia - Group B winners Japan - Group B runners up
Well, the rankings technically put the Dutch above so I suppose they would. No idea how the **** FIFA works it out like. Probably alphabetical order...
Since Uruguay haven't qualified yet but are still in the top 7, doesn't that sort of demonstrate how **** the points system is for FIFA rankings?
I had actually put NZ originally, but changed it soon enough so that it was even correct in his quote.
I can just picture it now: the Dutch screaming (In a Steve McClaren accent): "We're not the Netherlandsh - we're Holland!"
Apparently the Netherlands would be the final top seed if Uruguay fail, **** knows how though. Maybe they'll toss a coin
FIFA Rankings officially out. It's the exact same top 20 as the one posted last night. With The Netherlands in eighth ahead of Italy, presumably because Italy lost places while Netherlands gained.
Also I've discovered that the ranking points are to two decimal places. Netherlands are 1135.95 Italy are 1135.61 rounded up to 1136 both teams appear to be level but the Dutch just shade it with a 0.34 higher score.
