I think it's the KO times that will make this particularly bad, think most big european teams (not you scotland) have the earlier KO times to suit the european audience, whereas out east, we were getting KO times later in the evening - Qatar was cooler due to the time of year, and also a lot less humid in the middle east
With it being a 48 team world cup and 32 teams qualifying for knock outs.....3/4 of the teams will do well enough in the first stage.....there's some right ****ing dross going to this world cup.......temp wise....KO will influence this, with our games being 9pm 11pm times.....thats mid afternoon which is the hottest part of the day.....the US gets V hot in the summer, a strange geographical fact, New York, one of the most northerly destinations for the games is parallel to Portugal and has summers to match

I opened this thread thinking it would be about the cricket not some meaningless over-priced football friendly ahead of the Gilead-hosted World Cup. What a disappointment. I hope we finish off those Kiwis today, though. Mind you, the cricket was pretty over-priced too so no wonder there were tickets left. Nearly £150 a pop even for pensioners — unless I misread it. I was considering going along till I saw that the other day.
To be fair those prices are just what they charge at US stadiums. I've been to NBL, NHL and NFL games in the US over the last couple of years and those are the prices you pay for a beer. Although the price for tickets are often fairly reasonable especially for baseball.
