Benny may not be going anyway, with Cameroon in need of results. They've not been themselves suffering from Eto's ban for leading a strike last year, he was banned for 15 matches, reduced to 4 after public outcry.
According to Wikipedia, which isn't the greatest source but I couldn't find line-ups for the game, Assou-Ekotto wasn't even named in the squad. Bassong didn't make it, either. Eto'o pulled out as a protest against the poor set-up, apparently.
PNP - I had trouble too, very sketchy reports, even the next day, wasn't entirely sure if Eto's ban was up or not either. All largely irrelevant if Benny's not there anyway, out of interest I'd like to know which Cameroon LB is considered better than him.
