Italians have been very physical here.

Sometimes you wonder what the ref & linos are watching, when the likes of Defo gets manhandled by their defender and gets a freekick given against him.

    Great breakaway there.

    Great finish, maybe poor keeping.

    I'm not bothered though.

I agree pisspants, am not feeling footy fever like i should be at the moment. Might give up following England, hard to support a team with such ****ers as Terry in it even if he is a good player

The match highlighted once again We don't have a playmaker in the mould of a Modric,Da Silva,Nasri type of player lets hope Wiltshire comes back fit and raring to go because he could be the nearest one to fill that role. Can anyone suggest another?

Very rare that I watch England play ..

Don't like most of the players.

    Dull Football.

Never been the same since they stopped the ' home internationals '
    Competition .

It was played in Switzerland. Then again it could have been played in a park. Nobody cares about it. Dire game overall imo.

England "B" 2 v. Italy "B" 1. Well at least the future looks better. Maybe in Rio 2014 <ok>

WOW. Brazil has a hectic few years ahead. Next World Cup in 2014 and the Next Olympics in 2016. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Jack Wilshere and Tom Cleverley are the future. Jack Rodwell may join them IF he listens to Mancini. Looks like Adam Johnson chose not too and is now Toast. :bandit:

I think Rodwell may have hampered his England chances by joining Man City. I can't see him getting a regular starting place in their team. I can't see him being picked ahead of Silva, Toure, Nasri or Barry (when fit).

    Hope I'm wrong mind

Very true but just being amongst those types will help surely ? Its upto Rodwell now. He has the talent for sure.

He will be training and (hopefully) learning from some fantastic players, but if he doesn't get on the pitch how is he going to try and incorporate the things he learns into his game?

We have loads of kind of 'static' playmakers like Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick etc but I agree that we do lack someone with a bit more movement who can do what Koren does for City. Wilshere is definitely the man to do that so we need to get him fit.

Games like this and the one against Spain last year show that it's complete bollocks to say we are so far behind every other country. We've got plenty of good players and loads of depth, it's not uncommon that we play these reserve sides and still get a decent result. I can undertsand why people get irritated that we always lose in tournaments but we have to be realistic, only one team can win it and if we are one of the top 8 sides then making the quarter finals is about right for us. The big thing the England team need is more support. Look at how the GB olympians thrived on all the support they got from everyone in the country, it's the opposite with footballers, everyone enjoys having a go at them. If everyone got behind them a bit they'd have a much better chance.
