Oh no, oh no, surely not..........followed by the worst off side decision EVER! Great memories, like falling out of a tree & breaking an arm!
Who do you think we should select to face the Italians and how do you expect us to fare? The Italians are renowned for their dour defensive qualities and the ability to counter attack and score. With both sides likely to be strong defensively where would you like to see us make changes? Or would you stick with the same side?
Is it just me? I find myself half hoping we go out tomorrow. I can't stand the thought of losing to the Germans!
I thought that earlier as I am sick of going out to the Germans. But, maybe, just maybe, we'll get past Italy and beat the Germans...? All right, realms of fantasy, I know.
After seeing them demolish Greece after they had the timerity to equalise I just can't see it. Think they will go on and win it now!
Must admit, I can't see beyond Germany for the title myself. They are a superb team. Spain, on the other hand, I think have been below par.
I see the game being tight, maybe 2-1 eitherway. I think Hodgson will keep the same team. I would say Young is the player who is most likely to drop out for Downing but there you go.
Roy Hodgson talking about penalties, scorpions, frogs and tactics: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18560783#asset I've heard some people say Roy seems boring - but I always like listening to him, I think he is very interesting. Thoughts on that interview?
Parker shoud be tasked with man marking Pirlo, old fashioned style. Just in his face the whole match. That nullifies their best player. Can't see them really attacking us so speed on the counter won't come into it. Reckon we will try and draw fouls in and around the box to score from a set piece.
France could have done with an up and coming midfielder, do we know anyone that matches the description?
I didn't really want this game, because although I'm only mildly interested [my interest would be non-existent if this was happening during a regular football season], one of my two home teams are going to get knocked out, and that's unfortunate. Usually, if one of the countries fails in a competition, I've got the other one to keep me going. Mind you, they could both get knocked out if they were playing other teams, so perhaps it's best that one makes it through to the next round. Who do I want to get through..? I'm quite torn and it's 50/50 for me. Mind you, my head says Italy, simply because England are playing in an Italian way, but only Italy know how to play that way to perfection. It's very rare for me to watch a contest where I'll be both pleased and disappointed in equal measure, so I'll be tuning in for the experience.
I've been waiting for this, In a Motson-esque voice "Well this is the first time England have entered a major competition with little, or no expectation... but now Rio... we have to ask ourselves... can they actually do it??"
Pleased to see how the tournament as a whole is going well. Pockets of trouble reported, but nothing like forecast. Praying for an England win, but worried now that the media are hyping it up. Hope they don't kibosh it. Going for England low score win, but suspect it may go to extra time.
Germany & Spain look on another level but you never know with knock out football. Portugal have Ronaldo, Italy put on one of the best displays against Spain and England defeated them recently if only in a friendly. Same starting 11 for me as Ukraine. With Milner off on the hour
