    Much more up for this than I anticipated.

    The last time England beat Germany in a tournament, was on 17th June, 2000 - the day my father died. He'd been clinging on way past medical expectation, and worked for a German company (BASF), so it felt like he held on just long enough to see us win, stick a finger up to his German colleagues, and let go.

    As a result, I'm wearing my BASF socks today...
