Ive lost my voice. I’ve been for a run today but might need to go fit another to run off some energy here. I can’t believe it. COME ON ENGLAND!!!! ITS COMING HOME
I know some will disagree, but Luke Shaw was MOTM for me. Impeccable in defence, assisted the first goal, set up the second. Fantastic performance, particularly in the second half.
Certainly not taking it for granted, but this may be our best chance to at least reach a Euros final. By the way Belgium might feel the road is opening up before them here.
I'll give him credit, I thought he got the team selection spot on today. Sterling still frustrates the hell out of me, but he's popped up at the crucial moments. I thought he was very brave to keep both Rice and Phillips on when they were both on yellow cards - so again fair play to him. If one of those had picked up a 2nd yellow early in the 2nd half he would have been ripped to shreds by the media. He's still got his flaws but I thought we saw a bolder side to him today - picking Saka from the start was also brave and a good call.
I'll hold my hands up (and as Southgate fan), I thought he'd ****ed it by going with a back three - but that's why he manages England and I'm some **** who moans about var on the internet. As I've said before, he's clearly not the greatest tactically and is quite limited in that respect... BUT... he's given us a WC semi final, given us our best ko result in over half a century, and we're the only side to not concede a goal. What's the problem? Honestly, anyone who can't get behind Southgate at this point should probably **** clean off. So we're not that entertaining, who gives a ****? Does anyone think that Greek fans cared they were dull in 2004? Nah. **** all that bollocks: Southgate you're the one, you still turn me on, and football's coming home again
I agree with that TBF. We're in the quarter final, it's all about getting behind him and the team now. Although I'll still give Sterling ****, he'll keep on scoring then.
Not only that, but he single-handedly knocked the Netherlands out when he f*cked Van Dijk up last year.
Tell you what, that could be a massive goal for Kane. We need him to be on form and that could bring him right back into it
Nothing will ever quite explain my joy of seeing about 25% of the crowd losing their ****ing **** in the heart of Wales. I'm gonna love the rest of my ****ing holiday Bask in this glory chaps; quarters thread up Friday when I'm back
