Well I enjoyed that, Gomez and Lewis looked really composed on the ball, and nice to see 'Arry bag a couple, bloke knkws where the onion bag is, TAA when given space like that has the ability to destroy teams, good gane good result, bit of work on the final ball and we'll be cooking on gas
Hope we never see people leaving the MKM early or the East Stand empty within a minute of the final whistle instead of applauding the players off.
The performances and style of play is noticeably more exciting. Lots more ‘pass and move’, forward passes, wingers making clever runs in behind, great variation of passes by Alexander-Arnold etc. They look a lot more dynamic and movement is far better than what we’ve seen under Southgate. I know it’s only Ireland and Finland but we’re playing much higher up and being braver in possession. Southgate had us go 1-0 up then sit deep and invite pressure for 70 or so minutes against even minnow nations. Will have to wait until we play stronger nations to judge properly but there’s a marked difference in how we approach games under Carsley compared to Southgate.
QPR on April 13th. We've only won two at home in all competitions in 2024. That's from 14 games, or 16 if you include the friendlies. And as I've mentioned a few times before, the home results have been quite consistently poor since the 2019/20 season, with the exception of the season we couldn't attend games in. There must be very few clubs whose fans have seen as few home wins as we have during that time.
I was there week before last and it's not like that now. Lots of bars around the city centre. To be honest I've been going there fairly regularly for the last 20 years and I always remember there being bars and restaurants around the city.
Lets be fair....a top half championship side would beat Finland. PS.....When Finland brought on their only England based player, who plays for Exeter, I feared for us...
I thought that was a good performance and Angel Gomes was the stand out for me. For someone to come into the set up and just dominate the ball is very impressive. 116 successful passes and this wasn’t sideways or backwards but always looking to thread a ball through to someone in an attacking area. As a team we released the ball far quicker, mostly looking for a pass that was looking to create a threat to the Finnish back line. We also fizzed the ball about, which also increased the tempo and potency of our attack. I enjoyed that as a watch and think Carsley should be in pole position to get the job.
Absolutely shocking. And some still hark on about why we had a change of manager! It's a separate question then about whether the replacement was the right choice - TWT. The home form has got to change, and I'm sure it will, but may well take another few weeks of patience & pain. Bar a top striker, we have a very decent much more balanced squad now that will do us nicely until January, and that just needs a bit of time to settle & gel.
You have been a poster since 2011 and I have to admit I have only just realised the meaning of your user name
Agreed, it’s not. Was just getting in there first copying what all the experts were saying a month or so ago.
