think you'll find Rooney was behind the keeper who was 4 yards off his line though.

Watching the tennis instead... Murray making the usual meal of things against Monfils. 5-0 up in the final set tho.

    Ecuador 1-1 England

"The very definition of a scrambled goal but Wayne Rooney will not care - just the sort of break he needed. It leaves Rooney on 39 England goals, just one behind Michael Owen and it is worth asking again: would England really be a better side without him?"

unless he improves a hundred fold then YES

Not when the ball was played in. Lambert did control it with his arm though.

Greedy from Chamberlain. Should have pulled it back for Lambert instead of shooting.

Ox has got to start really.

    I'd go with:
    Studge
    Lallana Sterling Oxo

Problem with Ox is, he skips past a couple of challenge but then his final ball is bad. He's like Walcott 3 years ago. Huge potential but needs to work on his crossing/shooting and making the right choice. Often runs into blind alleys as well.

Got to say, we look more South American on the ball than they do. Dreadful defence ( I used to rate Smalling three years ago, and give me Cole over Shaw at lb any day of the week) but I think we're playing the better football.

Wonder if we can do this in the heat and humidity closer to the equator though?

agree with most of that but Milner is been played out of position, he's showing he's not a right back. not his fault.

Regardless of the outcome, I really don't see the point of putting out an entirely different line-up this close to a major tournament.
England should be using this opportunity for the majority of their first 11 to increase their experience of playing together.

Only since we've been interested in him from about 2 weeks ago and from what people have said on here.

on Sky, their owner saying that we've made a formal bid for him and seems just personal terms need to be agreed now.

Four weeks since the season finished, getting them all some game time to keep match fit.
