Good point. If they book it for the whole tournament & then check out early do they still have the full bill to pay?
The thing that gets me is that Hodgson has said for ages now that Hart is his number 1 keeper, so why the **** doesn't he give the other keepers in the squad a game. I can see it now. First game, Hart gets injured, sub goalie comes on and due to lack of international match experience ****s up completely and is made a scapegoat. I hate to say it, Rob Green (judas) was not a bad a keeper, until that time against USA in the last world cup. Look how his confidence and form suffered.
This is the perfect tournament to play our talented youngsters and forget about the likes of Gerrard Lampard and Cole. People will disagree but for me even Wayne Rooney wouldn't be a sure starter. Id go --------------------Hart-------------------------- Walker--------Cahill----Smalling--------Baines -------Henderson-Barkley---Wilshere--------- Sterling---------Sturridge------OxChamberlain Bit of everything in the midfield three and plenty of pace and skill in the front three. We don't.need Rooney playing 80 yard Hollywood passes on the half way line. Our big problem is centre back which is the weakest its ever been in my memory. Id go with Smalling over Jagielka for his pace and power. A slow centre back in 40° heat isn't what we need. Fit young enthusiastic players trying to.make.a name for themselves will give us our best shot imo.
Agree with what you are saying mate but that team would get spanked by pretty much most of the top 20 teams in the world.
Sm,alling and Walker at the back - I'd fancy us against them!! Both poor form this season but will still get on the plane to Rio... Form is temporary, class is permanent, and having neither for one of the top teams is a ticket for an England squad
You know I was on the daily mirror page and they had the name Cole as one of the potential forwards. And I sat there thinking who on earth is that. Huh? There's been no striker since Andy Cole by the name Cole. And eventually it hit me, Joe Cole. Is Joe Cole a striker though? Then I click this thread and suddenly remember West Ham also have a guy called Carlton Cole. Man, England is so poor these days I can't even remember who their potential players are. I've no idea which Cole the Daily Mirror think might be in consideration to go to Brazil. Personally I'd go with an Everton midfield of Barry Barkley Baines Rooney ahead of them, And Sturridge and maybe Carroll up to. I don't see what Wilshire brings to the team at all. Maybe Henderson/A. Johnson can be in there in exchange for one of the forwards when playing a stronger team on the right. Milner shouldn't be anywhere near the England fold because he hardly plays football. Wellback doesn't score enough goals to be starting because whoever else we're fielding just doesn't do enough. Anyway seeing that Gerrard is captain he's guaranteed to start so that's that. Another wasted tournament. Watching england is painful. There's one guy on the ball another guy doing a run and the other 8 are standing still.
----------------------------------Hart----------------------------------------- Johnson-Cahill-Jagielka/Smalling/anyone else who can play CB and is English-Baines ---------------------------Henderson-Gerard----------------------------------- -------------------------Milner-Wilshere-Sterling------------------------------- -------------------------------Sturridge--------------------------------------- That for me is our best line up. CB is a real problem.
