Puyol not present though of course. Capdevila is pretty old and slow now as well. Not sure if he even gets regular football for Benfica anymore.

Walcott reveals unexpected medical knowledge: My hamstring problem was a pain in the backside.

I was there, it was pretty rubbish. Belgium played really well though, really good possession passing football which was lovely to watch and perhaps the best football I've ever seen in person, so much so that I shall now called them Belgiu-lona.

Perhaps Belgium could have used a pacy Right winger to expose the weakness of the right side of the England defence, do we know of one?

Are you hinting that they were Chelsead?

Same score and the end product was the same.

That would be a fair conclusion, yes.

Without checking for accuracy I believe England have won their last five victorious games by 1-0.

Five more wouldn't do us any harm.

Hodgson obviously has the team set up to be difficult to break down and beat.

there are much worse ways to go to a major tournament.

i think our defence is ok at best- cole and hart world class. looks like lescott and terry will play which worries me for pace but should do well with set pieces, but johnson is a big worry

You can't argue with their record. We look almost impossible to score against at present. If only we could string some passes together.

Must be weird supporting your country from another country. Did that for the 2002 World Cup - was staying in France and the French had an absolutely shocking tournament. Felt pretty smug walking around in my England top :)

    Gutted for Cahill.
When Rio was over-looked I shrugged, when Barry & Lampard were ruled out I worried not. But Gary, I think we'll miss him. Was starting to feel a tad positive about the euro's, but to progress we are going to need a lot of newbies have very good starts to their England careers. Might have to start chalking this one off to experience............already.
