Southgate needs to stick to the first XI

Kane will want more goals...let him loose.

Not too bothered about who we face, you don't win the World Cup without coming across a Giant or two.

I agree, but we can potentially go as far as the semi’s without facing one, if we finish second in the group.

I’d rather us play japan/Colombia/Senegal followed by Sweden/Switzerland by finishing second, than japan/Colombia/Senegal followed by Brazil/Mexico by finishing first.

Then we’d face one of Denmark, Spain, Croatia or Russia in the semi’s.

It’s rumoured that Belgium are making 10 changes today, so they are obviously thinking the same thing!

Southgate is spot-on regarding this.

England have not won a tournament KO stage since 2006,
yet all the sheeple are going on about finishing 2nd to
avoid them / play those etc.

Play to win every game regardless of the opposition.

I don't agree. Play Brazil (and I'm not discounting losing to Columbia if it falls that way) and we will lose. Psychologically we cannot beat them, even when we're the better team. Play Sweden/Switzerland and I'd be fairly confident. Get to semis and anything can happen.

To beat Brazil we would need referees to drop their Neymar love-in.

Anticipating salty reaction tomorrow to a victory in which Kane scores along the lines of "he's so selfish, he was only thinking of the golden boot, now we are in the hard part of the draw".

Actually the "easy" part of the draw may have Spain and Croatia - arguably harder than the other side with underperforming teams. On the other hand as paul mentioned above, at the world cup you have to get past FIFA/refs desire to get Brazil as far as possible.

Getting Iceland in 2016 should be enough for most to drop this "easy" stuff.

I had no expectations beyond reaching the QFs at best
(and then getting turned over by quality opponents) .
I expect that to still be the case regardless of the result today.

8 changes? **** off, Southgate.

This is our first real test and we're wasting it to rest players? If there are some issues with our first choice system and line up(I believe there are) then I'd rather we found out now than in the knockouts where mistakes cost.

Rose and Dier v Dembele and Chadli, plus some assorted dross on either side.

C'mon Belgium. <applause>

**** this winning is a habit ****. I wanna be in the half of the draw that doesn't contain France, Brazil, Suarez, Messi or Ronaldo.

Beeellllllllllllll---------Giiiiiiiuuuuuuuuuummmmmm.
