Gallagher over Ward prowse, and only 1 left back?

walker and Phillips haven’t kicked a ball in how long and maguire isn’t even playing. Question marks raised
 
I think our squad overall is pretty poor and has gone backwards. To say you picked players that give balance and take only 1 left back is just nuts. Gallagher over an out and out striker such as Toney who offers something different annoys me. Glad Maddison forced his way in and TAA scraped in as well.

well i would say pope is 3rd choice and not just because of where he plays, i have always thought the same and if anyone is to replace pickford then it should be ramsdale.

foden and grealish as forwards is also strange starting to be pleased i have not been looking forward to this world cup.
 
Hard to believe Maguire and Phillips have been picked when they have hardly kicked a ball for their teams this season... The likes of Ward-Prowse must be gutted.

Excellent squad that. Delighted to see Maddison, Gallagher make the first cut. Also Phillips back in is unbelievable news - that lad has been outstanding for England - major boost. Well done Southagate, excellent choices, cant wait for the footy to start now.
 
Maguire is ridiculously lucky. But, he's one of the gang. Dier too. He's slower now than when he used to be slow. The omission of Timori is a terrible indication of the manager's mindset, which has changed radically from trying young players onto picking old ones wether or not they are good enough.

Another forward required, especially Kane spends less and less time being one himself.

Quarters at best. Glad I'm not bothered this time.

You’re probably right. He should be in with a chance of starting IMO. He’s been excellent and will be full of confidence now.

Agreed. No chance he starts. He’s too attacking minded for Southgate. He may get a run out in the 85th minute onwards if he’s lucky.
