It just means they wanted more cover on that side, they would have played any backup LB they had.

 

I'd prefer Gibbs to be thought of as useless. I don't want him playing international football.

I rate him quite highly though, but I think comparisons between players on different teams are very difficult. I'd just say he is in the top group and leave it at that.

 

Nah I don't buy that, if they didn't rate him they wouldn't have started him in such a big match. Maybe they'd have brought him on towards the end but not started him.

 

im not sayin he is rubbish, but it would be like us starting santos on the wing for more cover, or you starting shaw there.

Gibbs was excellent against Liverpool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXLAAGrwvd4&feature=youtu.be not challenged much but dealt with every threat comfortably and excellent going forward (apart from crosses which are normally great)
