We won't win. Watch the pattern:

Tunisia in red we win.
Panama in red we win.
Belgium in white we lose.
Colombia in red we win.

Sweden in red (because we're "away" team) we will win.
Croatia and Russia both play in red so we will play in white and lose.


White is a weak colour. British teams in white never win anything. In 1966 England word red to win the title.

White isn't your team's main colour or you wouldn't have won anything. Without the red of Fergie's nose to counter the white on your kit youre not winning as much anymore.

 

To win it we most likely have to beat two teams who are slightly better than us and one who is slightly worse. I make that about 8-1.

 

We're probably ever so slightly the best team left in our side of the bracket.

Plenty of teams quite a bit better than us on the other side... But we only have to play one of them.

France, Belgium, Uruguay, Brazil... All better than us but we will avoid at least 3 of the 4.

Much better to find odds based on a fottbsll statistics website rather than from a betting corp. they set their odds mainly with covering possible losses. The betting tendencies influence their odds more than the football.

Uruguay are around 16 on Betfair. That's value.

I'm on England at 19.5, wouldn't back them at current prices.

Bookies love these tournaments because people bet on things like pride, blind faith, 'feelings' etc - all the things that cause mug punters to go skint.

Not sure about Spanish language sites or operators.

Some countries, like France (PMU), have international Totes - Australia too, I think. So if you wanted to back England in the Ashes, say, and you could bet on the TAB, that would be the way to go. And if you are backing English or Irish horses running in France - the Arc, for example - always use the PMU, which is easy enough to do.

If you wanted to get a good price on England it would certainly pay you to look at betting sites outside the UK, ones with fewer Brit punters, sure. Not that easy to do though.

UK and Irish bookmakers dominate the international markets, and tbh are the easiest, best regulated, and most trustworthy to do business with. Ironically, quite a few are domiciled in places like Gibraltar and Malta, but they are subject to UK law when taking bets here, and UK gambling laws are very liberal and very punter friendly.

Israeli firms have a big international presence in the gambling industry. Dodgy as **** though, by all accounts.

Not sure Spain even has bookies tbh, they have fruities and lotteries but I don't remember ever seeing bookie type businesses, that sort of thing was mainly done in English pubs.
