I think it could be a number of things. Our season is more grueling (for want of a better word) Blackburn can beat Man U at OT, but Osasuna have very little chance of beating Barcelona at the camp nou (I would have thought, watch this they did beat them lol), IE there are a lot more shock results in the PL than in Spain, the whole league is pretty strong, Spains league isnt really. Also the type of football that is played, end to end, chances for both sides, tackles flying in, running 12KM every match etc etc must have an effect. Also if you look at the Spain Squad, you could probably pick a full 1st team from just the Barcelona players, which = continuity as they play week in week out with each other, not once every 2-3 months for an International like a lot of our players do. I am not sure if the winter break does have an effect though, Spain have played 21 games, we have played 24, and we both finish on the 13th of May and Barcelona generally get the the final of the ECL as well so thats even more games, Germany only have a 34 game season, and theirs finishes on the 5th May.
