Bad defeat. I have to question team selection. Knowing it would certainly be a very spin friendly pitch why was Rehan Ahmed not in the team? Pakistan had seven spinners, we had three. Their leggie took eight wickets in our second innings, Ahmed took a five for on debut here last tour.

They only needed the two in the 2nd innings. It’s about the ability to bowl effectively on turners, and to bat. We don’t see many of them, and it’s usually only Root who can adapt, but on a Day 9 pitch it’s not gonna be easy!

That's why the toss for this game was more crucial for England than the last

In my opinion, the visiting team in ALL Test Matches should have the choice of either batting or fielding.
This would stop all pitch pampering by the home teams federations.

Similar thoughts, but the losing team from the previous contest should have choice. Normal toss after a draw.

    Pakistan 151/5 in reply to England's 267

The India NZ test looks an interesting lower scoring match as well

We go to West Indies next week for T20 and ODI matches.
    Starts Thursday, so quick turnaround.
We then travel onto New Zealand for a Test Series.

    all out for 209

Why are we bouncing around to different countries like an excited dog not giving our players any time to adjust to local conditions?

    First ODI, Antigua

    England 209 all out (45.1 overs): Livingstone 48 (49); Motie 4-41

    West Indies 157-2 (25.5 overs): Lewis 94 (69); Livingstone 1-32

West Indies win by eight wickets (DLS method)

Poor performance, plenty of starts but nobody went on to post a good score.

Lot of inexperience in the team though. There to gain that bit of experience it seems.

First test v NZ day two. Brook into the 90's but has been dropped three times so far. Pope out to a great catch after he and Brook had put on 150..Brook has just reached his ton.

Edit:- And was dropped again. And so was Stokes.
