Summary of our fantastic win England win by 10 wickets and with 24 balls to spare - Buttler seals victory with a six Buttler (80) and Hales (86) chase down 169 in style - England hit 10 sixes Final is against Pakistan in Melbourne on Sunday (08:00 GMT) Late hitting from Hardik (63 off 33) propels India to 168-6 Kohli anchors India with 50 off 40 balls India slip to 75-3 after losing Rohit and Suryakumar in quick succession
I watched on hesgoal well about 40% of it due to buffering, and we were so good. A couple of punished overs at the end of India's innings aside. We scored at least 7 runs in every over up until the 13th. That caused pressure as we were always ahead of the game. And a strange fact, Hales had scored 7 sixes before Buttler got his first. (Hesgoal translates as bestial on auto correct ).
That was a devastating run chase from Buttler & Hales against one of the best sides in the world. With Harry Kane being a bit tired and Wood unable to back up after a few overs, I hope our openers have left some fuel in the tank for the final on Sunday.
Rain very likely for Sunday and reserve day Monday. Fingers crossed. Three games totally washed out in Melbourne so far. Not ideal location for the final but 100k crowd is very compelling.
I read that on the tournament website. Not looking good. Is the weather normally this bad in November?
Melbourne has strange weather characteritics I believe. If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, is a saying they use I believe.
Whole of the East coast of Aus has been hit with higher than average rain for over a year. Weather pattern called La Nina that impacts the Indian Ocean causes it from time to time. Some places have had extreme flooding 3 times this year already poor sods. Melbourne gets a mixed bag of weather as GE suggests above but this current deluge isn't normal
The bowlers as a unit were excellent. In the last three games for instance, Rashid has figures of 1-16, 1-20, and 2-22 and did not concede a six in those innings, but Curren has to be the pick of them all.
