Slovenia were better at defending and taking them. And that is Slovenia!!!! Do you think the Germans would be a shambles at corners? Simple standards. around danger areas that. Defensively England are now poor as well. In my lifetime you've always been able to say England has brilliant central defenders (Ferdinand, Campbell, Terry, Adams, King should have been one long term) Its getting worse and worse,

I've seen German players make mistakes. Also could have sworn Slovenia didn't score from any corners.
Not sure what your point is. The game was yesterday. We have to use the players we are given. Not sure those players are up to fitness at the current time.

"Yesterday England could not even take a good corner kick. or defend one. Players were not picking up runners, playing blind passes ... Those are fundamental basics."

100% agree and I said that at the time. That is what you learn as soon as you attend your first training session at non-league level - or even schoolboy level.
Unless deliberately playing short as part of a set piece, your corner should ALWAYS beat the first defender.
    No excuses.

Off course a corner should always beat the first man but we live in a world where everyone is human and 100% guarantees are not always achievable. I'm willing to bet that all corner takers have hit the first man at some point

On a more positive note - I thought Andros Townsend made a positive difference as soon as he arrived.
I've always liked him - pity he's such a sick note!

As always for some reason, English players are clueless in closing down, running into space, lack confidence with ball at feet etc.
Harry insists we have the players that are technically great....I don't believe it, in the premiership they rely on the foreign players for the technical stuff.
I really do believe it's down to grass roots and how youngsters are taught....until that changes England will always struggle.
For me, it has nothing to do with money they earn..

England does develop technical players but not as many as nations which should be our peers. The FA coaching model the four corners does include technique but how do the FA monitor the development of fundamental skills from grass roots up? They do not. A coach, and that includes those with qualifications does not have to follow any syllabus, any nation strategy, they can just make up what they do as they go along. This would be totally unacceptable in Spain, or even Iceland, Countries where coaching standards are monitored and enforced.

Pity England could not put balls into the box like that. Henderson's and Rooney's delivery gave players little chance of any opportunity.

I do not like zonal marking as it allows players to attack the ball. Slovenia went man to man.

Impressed by him when playing for England. Prepared to have a go at players in the last third.

Just illustrates how worthless the rest of the team is then if the only decent outfield player is not worth paying in currency - mind you, since all this Brexit ****e washers are probably worth more than pounds..........

I had to make a project that needed 30 washers, each about 2 pence size a pack of 20 was 79p so 2 packs needed £1.58 .. it only cost me 60p, I had the drill bit already ................so washers are good currency converters!
