Well obviously you wouldn't want City to win promotion ;) But as unlikely as it would be, what about Town getting promoted ?

I haven't followed England since Euro 1992 when old Turnip head was manager!

Ipswich will get promotion in the next 2 years so long as Mick McCarthy is still manager! <ok>

And I thought you respected SBR, did you not see what he said about people calling Graham Taylor names?

Shame on you, typical Tory red top attitude!

Anyone that thinks Carlton Palmer is a footballer let alone an international player deserves all the ridicule that comes his way! Can we not knock it... Do I not like that! <doh> He was completely out of his depth!

to be fair to graham taylor, he didn't have much choice who he picked. england produced some poor players at that time - you can only pick who is available and every england manager is hampered by the lack of ability in our players. i expect if robson had had the same players we'd still have struggled

Promotion for ncfc over England any day.

In the unlikely event they ever win it, you wouldn't be able to move for smug England donks with their faces painted, mongling down the road, top off, stella open, holding up the traffic. Generally carrying on like they played some grand part in the success and hadn't berated them at every possible opportunity.

Couldn't give a watery ****e about England in football (other sports I want England to win)- no feeling of connection. NCFC promoted without a doubt.

Club above country for me, too. No contest. No sense of 'attachment' to the England squad, all overpaid and 'bigged up' by typical red-top tabloid press to rouse and galvanise the unruly minions that gruffnuts alluded to above <ok>

I think I would have to plump for winning the WC for the same reason as Superman. I also think it would genuinely inspire the whole country. I also remember how buzzing the country was after winning the Rugby WC. I can see why a lot of people on here are tired with the whole England bullshit and the players picked, etc, but I am 95% certain that if we made it to the final you'd all be watching, enjoying and celebrating if a miracle happened (and deservedly so). The bottom is Norwich regularly get promoted (and of course relegated), we're not Ipswich, and I'm confident that we will again relatively soon.

So if you asked me would you take England winning the WC against Norwich winning the Prem, it would be a no brainer for me - Norwich. A really difficult one I'd find is Norwich winning the FA cup v England winning the WC. I think I'd tend towards England on that one, but it's a closer call.

Change the record JWM. Every time someone thoroughly disagrees with you, you resort to this line. It's so childish.

I think you're right that it would be a great day, but if the play off final was on the same day as the WC final and I had a choice of ticket, I'd be watching Norwich, if it was the FA cup i'd be watching Norwich.
