I don’t like Bournemouth never have

I’m a big believer in backing Hull city but I genuinely fear for us.

Teams like this won't define our season, it's the likes of Blackpool, P'Boro, Luton and Barnsley we need to be beating, which I think we will.

These two teams do look a different level though, but maybe that's because we've been watching Fleetwood, Wigan and Accrington for a season.

The teams with PL money are at a huge advantage over the rest of us - methinks a season of toil and honest struggle awaits.

But then, there's only three of them and you never know, we might spring a surprise. We also don't have the 5-1 at Brentford to worry about this season.

What worries me is that if any of our squad have a half decent season, you can expect bids in January, or even before the window closes if they get off to a flyer. And given that we can't sign players to replace them using the money (unless we pay back the loan), that would leave us in a bit of a sticky situation.

I see a season of our best 11 giving most a game - managing playing time with a thin squad is gonna cause coaching staff some headaches. I forecast a season of struggle with the usual, hysterical MB suspects piling into McCann i.e. lost the dressing room, no Plan 'B', pegs and holes, and the old favourite 'he should be getting FAR more from these'. he'll need his tin hat.

If the team plays like it did last season and keeps their chins up, I don't think you'll see much in the way of criticism. If there's a return of the capitulation we saw last time, it might be different.

This is a very young team, that has to be taken into account and they're now playing at a level higher than most of them have ever played at. Like you say, our best XI will give anybody a game as we saw against Leeds last season, hopefully injuries won't bite too hard and we can get the likes of Honeyman fit again sharpish.

Bar a couple of unofficial bits of interest at the beginning of summer which where quickly put off by the figures quoted by the club, there hasn't been any interest in anyone we haven't wanted to leave and long may it continue
