i'm a rational guy but everytime i hear about this on the radio i look east to see if a giant black hole has appeared on the horizon swallowing everything

The theory is that it can form a black hole but there simply isnt enough mass for it to be large enough to cause problems. It'll most likely eat itself up in seconds.

Its a shame because it a handy black hole would be good for a cull.
