With Brod never adapting an out-and-out DM, I can't see it. However, surely Agger (if fit) would be the best fit if we went that way?
kelly = out of the question. johnson = out of the question flanno = fall off my chair laughing sahko did it at psg but seriously there is a lot to learn to get into his system and i don't think he's got the passing for the rodgers way... now jones.. he;s a donkey playing as a destructive player for utd he can... luiz can at cheslea cos he can play positive. we need a positive player willing to pass it and start moves in the rodgers role.. not a pure destructive player. agger would be the only one but he's not got the abiltiy to get about. every option is bad IMO bar buy.... OR controversal... use henderson there and get in a box to box type as that role is one you can put someone into easier from outside. trust me of the options we have HENDERSON IS THE ONLY OPTION.... but i cringe at the thought of allen and gerrard trying to close down and run about...
Wellington said of Napoleon's strategy, " He made his like the finest burnished harness. It looked good. It glistened in the sun and it answered very well. But when it broke it was useless. I however made my strategy of rope and when it broke I tied another knot and carried on" Time for Rodgers to put his Wellington head on!
DM's we have scouted and taken an interest in: Matuidi M'Vila Fernando All 3 would provide more bite, energy and better protection in front of the defence. Fernando is flirting with a lot of clubs at the moment, whilst Matuidi is likely to stay at PSG. M'Vila is probably the most likely target, but he is also the most exciting IMO. Only a year ago, the France manager (I think it was Blanc) had planned to build the national team around Sakho and M'Vila - that was at the age of 21/22, and he already 22 caps to his name. He's not in the destroyer mould of say Fernando or Mascherano, but he is similar to Lucas in that he tends to stay on his feet more often and nick the ball, and then play it. He's basically a stronger, more physical version of Lucas but with better positioning, vision and technical ability (that sounds harsh on Lucas!). He had a host of clubs after him but his attitude and bad behaviour put them off - Wenger wanted him at point, and he would have been perfect for them. Wanted to move from Rennes but QPR and Rubin were the only options available at the time. Moved to Russia, kept his head down, became a father and seems to have matured. Russian league is obviously not of the same standard as PL or Ligue 1, so he may have lost that bit of ability, I would say he's only play at 70-80% of his standard he set in France. But at 23, he's got so much potential and is basically another 'Sakho-like' signing.
