Well I do most of the washing up because I do it properly, where as she leaves bits of food on the cutlery, which drives me mental. The only thing I don't do is cleaning the bathroom. FFS Jammy has it got that bad that I'm now talking about domestic chores<laugh>
Yep I'm afraid so.

Try to help myself but usually get told to clear off as I'm just getting in the way or doing it wrong...loading the dishwasher incorrectly seems to be a particular bugbear of hers. Just don't get it myself, I mean if I load the dishwasher, let it do it's thing and then put all the clean dishes etc back in the cupboards what possible difference can it make ?

I'm not a bad lad though at least I take care of my own empties <cheers>

I had the ‘loading the dishwasher wrong ‘ charge so often, one day I got out a notepad and got her to teach me, item type by item type, exactly where each should go to avoid an apocalyptic calamity. This armed, the next day I loaded it up, full of confidence in my dishwasher loading skills.

later....... ‘you’ve loaded the dishwasher’

me(waiting for praise) ‘yes, in line with instructions’

boss: ‘You’ve done it wrong, I’ve changed how I do it’

never again.

Single parent, I do it all so no change for me.
How old is your youngster(s) este ?

My Mrs would have our 12 year old sweeping the chimney if she thought she'd get away with it. I just tell her to let him have his childhood and focus on his schoolwork. Needless to say she disagrees and thinks he needs to be self sufficent...anyway works for me as I'm the good cop :police:

2 girls, 16 and 13, they both do well at school play basketball everyday.
I also let them do what they want (within reason) As you say so they can enjoy their childhood, later there is a lot of **** to come, jobs morgatges etc etc.

My late Grandma said he was the greatest player to have ever played the game. That's good enough for me! She knew her stuff, saw him play lots.

Oh and a happy moment for me recently was eventually teaching the lad how to ride his scooter properly. The big smile as he whizzes around on it now cheered me up for days. Still makes me smile now when I see him on it.

Anyone else have really happy memories or moments they are relying on to cheer themselves up?
