Can's role isn't to be the creative spark in midfield - over the past 3-5 months, he's sat deeper and has been the shield in front of the defence, while someone like Hendo has been the box to box. Defensively, Can has been superb - he won't get the plaudits because it's the donkey work but the number of attacks he prevents is high. It's the same as Busquets (not that I'm comparing their ability) - Busquets won't ever get the plaudits his teammates get simply because of the defensive nature of their role - it's not glamorous. Can needs to improve going forward as well but he's shown he has it in his locker - his assist for Origi was brilliant. The guy is 22 and is single handedly carrying our midfield - he has the intelligence and awareness to play in a 2 man midfield - only he and Joe Allen can do this at LFC (maybe Stewart). Put a quality CM next to Can and he will improve. No doubt. In a season which has been erratic and inconsistent, his level of performances have been consistent, moreso than anyone else. It's a shame people won't appreciate what he does - it seems he'll only receive praise if he runs through 8 players and scores from 30 yards each week.
Only need to hear what xavi says about busquets.he is the first one xavi wanted to talk with or sit with on bus. If you ask me sometime in the future busquets will be Barcelona manager
