You might want to read the full article next time rather than rely on a headline that just wants to grab attention. Here is what he actually said, from the same article:

"We are open-minded but we are not desperate. Today we didn't have (Danny) Welbeck or (Alexis) Sanchez, who are big players," he said

"(Jack) Wilshere didn't play as well, so we will have a good squad when everyone is back. We are open-minded but many clubs are on the market with big, big money.

"At the moment our squad is well-balanced quality-wise and numbers-wise.

"When you win the FA Cup final scoring four goals and score six today, it shows scoring goals is not our problem."

So where did he say he doesn't think he needs to splash out? In fact he said he is 'open minded' to signing, but not 'desperate'. What would you want him to say instead? Yes we are so desperate for a striker, which will simply inflate prices on a striker and badly play his hand at negotiations? The other parts of what he said is also true, Arsenal in general, do not have a problem with scoring, we have a great attacking line up with a very good overall squad, nothing about that statement is wrong.

While Arsenal beat world beaters Lyon 6-0, Man United beat that small team Barcelona 3-1

Well done beating them 3-1 (minus Messi, Neymar, Mascherano, Alves, Bravo) in a friendly. That team did the same thing to you in a Champions League final. Small victories eh?

Speaking of DM. Hearing rumors on Twitter that plans are to have Isaac Hayden be Coq's understudy in that position. I like the kid, he's very composed and mature but not too sure if he's ready yet due to injury keeping him out for most of last season.

United always beat Barca in friendlies anyways, but when it comes to the real deal, like 2 finals in the UCL, they always end up getting spanked by Barca. :D
