we really don't have much of a choice though unless there is a decent CB available due to not having a club but after Sol i doubt we'll go down that route ....please god don't go down that route.

Can narrow it down a bit as Pardew said Perch is definitely starting.

so perch with anyone of those then <wah> we'll just have to go for all out attack and try and score more than the other team

if that's the case i'd go with santon not ideal but no real alternative

Aye <laugh> it's just a matter of which full back do we have more faith in to do a job at CB, or throw Kadar in. For me it should definitely be Kadar.

I would as well but Pardew just doesn't seem to rate the lad even though he's played international matches which for me makes it a no brainer,Santon would be the next choice as he's a tall lad and would at least give us the height at the back. Those 2 are the best options obviously as they are defenders and unlike a midfielder should be able to defend better without diving in ala smith.

Seeing as an emergency loan is probably out of the question (but its still worth asking), are we allowed to bring in a free agent?

    If so, who is there?

As far as I know (and some of this is based on Football Manager), we can bring in a free agent, but they can only play if there is space in the 25-man squad. There should be space, as a lot of our players are under 21.

I'm not sure who's actually available though, apart from Sol Campbell.

Don't think we'd bring in a free transfer who nobody else wants with only 4 weeks (5 games) until the transfer window opens. We just have to manage through those games then find the right player at the right price, feel certain that was top of the management teams "things to do" list this morning.

We're allowed to bring in a free agent, but the only person who springs to mind is Campbell. After watching him last season, I would much rather have 4 full backs playing in defence <laugh>

I complained bitterly at the time, but in fairness I thought he did a job given that he's around 800 years old. Awareness was there, just about 3 miles short of pace. <laugh>

Agree that he's probably not the solution though

Aye he knew what he was supposed to be doing but his body badly let him down. Could we get a brain transplant into Perch's body?

I saw him play against Chelsea in the Carling Cup win and he looked really good so I sang his praises.

Alas, I never envisaged that he'd managed to use all his energy up in that one match and remain knackered for the rest of his time at Newcastle.

We could just put a 20ft cardboard cut-out of Tiote's face, scowling, behind goal. That should keep the game up the other end of the pitch!

Think we'll have to wheel Colo down to the training ground and have him spend all day, every day telling Perch how to play football, Tiote jogging along-side and giving him a good clip everytime he gets it wrong lol... though a small tap from Tiote...
