Own goal - Nobody likes to see that - and usually there is no doubt about the identity of the scorer!
ANY winning goal for The Gills is welcome at the moment - regardless of which player is 'credited.' ...I hope that Oliver isn't getting a persecution complex - as others in the side are 'robbing' him of the chance to score from a penalty - and now 'stealing' a goal because of a deflection of his header........... I don't care as long as the ball goes in the net - enough times to secure L1 safety this season.......
The players need to ensure that they do not score own goals - No fan like to see own goals by their team - even the ones being scored OFF the pitch.
Anyone can be a plaintiff - and try to take 'legal' action against an accused. The action against anyone accused of a criminal offence, or a civil offence, or to justify an 'exclusion' from a premises to which the public have access ( on payment or otherwise ) must have evidence to succeed. Without sufficient evidence it is doomed to failure - and could lead to counter action for malicious 'prosecution' or discriminatory behaviour ( a-la-McCammon. )
Mr. Scally has made it clear that he is upset by recent personal criticisms and behaviour towards his family... I can understand that - even if he cannot understand the reasons for fans' displeasure... He is perfectly at liberty to take, or threaten to take action for what he perceives as Libel / Slander or unjustified defamation..... but he will need evidence.
Mr. Scally, in his latest 'Chat' has made it clear that he intends to pursue action against the perpetrators of libellous and slanderous 'thuggery' towards him. He rightly claims that some of the behaviour towards him and his family is vile and disgusting..... but has he stooped to the level of these 'thugs?'
Mr. Scally has, in my opinion, placed himself and the Club in a potentially dangerous position - Has Mr. Scally scored an own goal! .. He has named Graham '' Fred'' Perry as an instigator of recent 'hate' from fans. Mr. Scally has basically accused Mr. Perry of incitement ( criminal conspiracy ), of criminality - violence towards staff at the ground ( stewards in the stadium, and staff in the Factory. ) These accusations are serious - punishable with a custodial sentence - if there is sufficient evidence. ...Mr. Perry has responded to the accusations against him. He has stated that he is not personally responsible for the behaviour by people in the stadium or the Factory... He admits his involvement in the 'aeroplane' (peaceful) protest - as his right to 'free' speech - which did not amount to anything actionable in law..... because there is no evidence.
I would have thought that Mr. Scally has had sufficient experience in the High Court to understand that he needs to provide evidence to substantiate his accusations against Mr.Perry - or face the possible legal consequences - from action that Mr. Perry can take for any 'thuggish' behaviour against HIM - especially if HIS accuser is proving evidence in the form of unsubstantiated malicious and thuggish 'slander.'
..... please, Mr. Scally - be careful what YOU say - I don't want GFC to score own goals - by a player called 'Hypocrite.'
