    The article said he played for Everton, that's what was embarrassing.

    Struggling to find the embarrassing part of that...

    EDIT: Forget it, OLM's post was timed perfectly.

    "Southampton defender Dejan Lovren and Hull striker Nikica Jelavic have been named in Croatia's provisional 30-man World Cup squad."

    Did read;

    In 30 years a City fan I don't recall any family or friends most of which are either City fans or interested in City referring to them as 'Tigers'.
    I've always considered our nickname to be reasonable for a football club playing in black and amber stripes and think its sensible for the club to use it in merchandise etc. However, this name change is clearly being imposed on the club in every way, other than the official name.
    The nickname is actually 'The Tigers' not just simply 'Tigers'. I fear next seasons crest will have 'Hull City Tigers' on it as Allam moves one step closer to getting his way with the name change.
    The 'Tigers' reference is now becoming an evil for many old school/die hard fans and as the club lose these type of fans they will be replaced by the premier/ plastic fans. When was the last chant of 'The Tigers' or 'give us a C, I, T, Y what have you got - 'The Tigers'?
    The other worry is that when City have a bad time on the pitch, possibly relegated, they will come down with a far greater bump because of all this name nonsense. It will be then that the club will need the die hard fans, the people the club have spent the previous years alienating!
