The poor cups record is probably because Mike has told him to focus on the league and treat the cups as a distraction. There is little money in them so why would MA be interested?

Partly but I think Pardew has to shoulder some of it, as do the players. Jabba can't actually affect the game. Regardless of the meddling and daft policies, it was still a game we could win.

Its only 2m-3m if you go all the way. For me winning the cup isn't about money or qualifying for Europe, its the glory of winning a prestigious trophy and giving your fans a great day out and a great memory. I'm not saying we would have won it, as its probably unlikely

I'm shocked 30k plus turned up given our attitude towards the cups. I won't be going to any more cup games until the attitude changes.

I don't think many of us will be going to any cup games for quite a while.

 

Silverware is always important for fans, it is a bragging point about our club, Premiership membership and survival is important to the club and I really can't ever remember a manager being sacked for not getting on in a cup competition. The FA cup has always had up and downs and yes we should have won the match, I am more concerned that with one of the weaker squads in the top 8 of the premiership that our focus is on achieving the best possible placing this season, keeping the best of the squad and trying to attract new players will be affected by the level at which we perform in the premiership. Would I like us to win the FA cup, of course but I am not going to get as upset as some others as I would rather be in the top 8, 19 points ahead of the bottom club, 6 points clear of the 9th placed club and 10 points clear of the 10th placed club.
