I saw that interview.

What I loved about it is that, at the end, he gave it the hard-man act by saying that "talk is cheap" and that if City can't "do it" they had better shut up.

Well, the only one who had better shut up is you, Roy. You clearly don't have a clue what you are talking about, mate <ok>

Your punditry skills are about as sharp as your managerial skills. Best take up something that you might be good at, such as reading gas meters, or collecting debts.

Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool.

It was man utd who walked the walk and talked the talk that season.

City are currently shouting really loud but they are still saying **** all. Its still many trillions of years since they won the league and none of that has changed.

Keane has said nothing that Mancini was thinking after the game today. Mancini even looked a little concerned that his team might get a little carried away and lose focus. He clearly wanted to play the scoreline down and focus more on the fact they ahd just won a game of football.

Come May if City win the league, then and only then will they of accomplished anything major. Until then...

It's very interesting, as United have never been in this situation (of being utterly outclassed by a big rival - City looking like the proverbial juggernaut at the moment) but neither have City (the situation of actually being the best team in the league and having a 5 point lead by the end of October).

Enthralling stuff.

Newcastle 5-0 Man U

????

Do people honestly expect us to win every game? FFS. City have spent millions to do this! We've had a man sent off didn't look up for it after they scored with their first shot an got punished! IT ****IN HAPPENS!! All this analysing the midfield bull.Did you do this after the Community Shield an when we spanked Arsenal? btw.Chelsea are down to 9 men and a goal down.If they lose does this mean they need stregnthening?

Yeah because UTD haven't spent a ****load of money ever? Sit the **** down.

A seriously depleted Arsenal side I might add. we had 3rd/4th string players in that side and Man Utd fans think it's the greatest victory ever. No, it isn't, as I predicted us losing heavily.

Again, sit the **** down.

Arsenal line up at OT:

13 Szczesny
06 Koscielny
20 Djourou
25 Jenkinson
30 Traore
07 Rosicky
14 Walcott
16 Ramsey
23 Arshavin
39 Coquelin
10 Van Persie

Seriously depleted? My arse. Jenkinson new and inexperienced - yes. Traore yes not a first team player and largely inexperienced - yes. Coquelin again not a first team player and largely inexperienced - yes. The vast majority of the rest were first team players and internationals. Wise up.

Well said that man <ok>

What??? Are you serious, pal?

I'd agree with you if it were not for the fact that City have been handing out spankings all season, so far.

1-6 United
4-1 Villa
0-4 Blackburn
3-0 Wigan
1-5 Spurs
4-0 Swansea

They are scoring for fun, at the moment, and don't look like they will be stopping any time soon.

The 2-2 draw away to Fulham excepted, they haven't even come close to looking like they are going to lose. United, on the other hand, have looked unbalanced and shaky for a couple of seasons. If you really do believe that you are magically going to pull this round, you are a fool, sir!

Another who misses the point!!Please quote where I've said we haven't spent money. Our average spend over the last few seasons has been much inferior to the likes of Man City and Chelsea.I am not some fool who thinks that money will not buy you great players.
I think you are the one who needs to "sit the **** down"<ok>

You may well "push on" with better performances than the 1-6 tonking you took from your fiercest rivals, City, but that's hardly the point is it? Again, you are burying your head in the sand (see my comments in a previous thread). I don't think you are in decline, but I do see the Arabs having ear-marked you out for complete and utter humiliation. Did they try to buy you and get spurned by your Yanky task-masters? It's as though the Arab money has been piled into City with complete abandon and with no motive other than to bury you (along with 'Pool) into the sand-pit of history.

Be honest.

You know very well that you are never going to catch City - not this season, and not for many seasons to come.

How does that make you feel?

<laugh>

Do you really think the Abu Dhabi royal family gives a flying **** about the rivalry between City and Utd? They bought City for a single reason - to big up the profile of Abu Dhabi and Etihad, Etisalat, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Aabar and all the other companies they have now associated with the City name. They will dump billions into City purely because they believe it will repay itself in additional tourist revenue and investment in Dubai. And it's working - Etihad revenue and passenger numbers alone have jumped by 50% since the City takeover.

Jaysus, I can't believe you actually think the Mansours give a **** about the actual football <laugh>

It looks like Chelsea appointed a lot of idiots to run their academy and managed to screw up the careers of dozens of young players they poached in the process. I don't think that's how it's going to be at Eastlands. Look at Man City's new academy plans and the recently introduced youth setup ruling from the FA - or even closer to home for me, just think about how there are MCFC training camps opening up around Leeds and how you can see blue-clad kids directed by Man City operatives playing on astro-turf pitches all over the city. I bet that's happening all over the North, if not the country. When you see all that, you wonder how dominant they'll be now they've bought the future too.

Even if the investment and enthusiasm from their owners does fade slightly, you get the feeling that they'll be well-equipped to stay on top anyway. They're not buying aging and unsuitable players like Chelsea made the mistake of doing either (thereby creating distrust between owner and manager); they seem to be buying the right players for the most part, and managing their problematic players effectively.

And I don't like any of it one bit. It's totally unscrupulous.

I dunno mate - Abramovich spend £100 million on Chelsea's academies and young player scouting and appointed some of the best staff in the business:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...h-wasted-millions-on-Chelsea-youth-dream.html

Right now it's hard to see what City are actually doing differently, other than throwing even more money at the problem.

The true test will always be whether academy graduates are preferred over expensive imports when there is only a marginal difference in quality. And City's track record to date isn't great: ditching loyal players like Ireland, SWP and Dunne for Milner, Santa Cruz and Lescott which at the time was not really justified by performances and arguably still isn't in some cases. And right now, for all the money and recruitment City are doing, can you think of many youth team graduates who are threatening to break into the first team?

<laugh>

Perhaps you are right, and it is all nothing more than a very expensive PR exercise for the Arabs. But what better way to catch the eyes of the docile masses than to consign the mighty United to history?

I tell you, that is exactly what they intend to do to maximise their exposure.

Think about what you are saying. Consign Utd to history? Talking nonsense.

Chill Winston.

Sorry for the board invasion.

Just wanted to say tough luck on the weekend. You went a man down and their bench is worth more than some entire clubs, so don't feel too down. (if any of you are?)

As for this "power shift" business, if that is the case then I will be bitterly disappointed. YES your club have spent loads on some players over the years, but that has been built up legitimately and for some righ guy to just stroll in and buy the top spot in the PL is truly disheartening. Lord knows I would like to see someone else win it, but not like that. Just ****s on Fergies work after all these years, ****s on other contenders hopes and really takes a huge one on the rest of us who all have future dreams.

Well done Mr Shinwantra <ok> - Dream destroyer. <laugh>

Hopefully you guys can prove it's not all about cash. For the first time in my life I'm feeling support for you boys, lord knows we're not in a position to dent them.... .... .... yet ;)

Genuinely: GOOD LUCK FOR THE SEASON (except against us <ok>)
