Oh aye. He's off the charts. But he nonetheless once was as I described, and very well considered by the wider media, especially in the US, until they realised he wasn't one of them .

The thing to bear in mind with Musk is, that he isn't political at all. Nor actually is Trump, who also at one time gave very large sums to the Democrats.

These people do what suits them at any given time.
