He's always had that in his game and its one of the reason opposition fans dislike him so much. Fortunately he's probably the only one in the squad that does (although I'm sure one or two might exaggerate the odd thing), making us much better than most other teams for it.
He got an entire thread on the Sunderrland board for it. They really don't like him but Meyler gets even worse abuse.
I didn't even notice it at the time. I remember the incident but followed the ball and just assumed he was fouled when the ref blew.
Thought it was hilarious. Love the bloke. What a player. A good, honest pro. 'Just' Elmo I believe is his nickname. The arsenal player should have been sent off, shocking tackle.
