its been proven that FFP cripples smaller clubs, and it suits Shorts policy of not buying as he can use this as an excuse **** him
Portuguese kid Pedro Carneiro is set for a fresh chance at Premier League football. The Sun says Sunderland boss David Moyes is ready to snap up Carneiro. The 18-year-old midfielder is a free agent and has been with the Black Cats for a few days as he tries to win a contract. Pedro, who began his career at Manchester City before an injury-hit spell with Barnsley, is also wanted by Benfica. Every man and his dog knows it's getting scrapped, keeping it in place will only form an elite European super league and kill every other club. Again, poor judgement by a man who knows piss all about the game. The worlds most expensive footballer has paid his fee and 2 years salary in 6 weeks through merchandise, are United thinking 'ooh we better watch that spending'?. Are they ****.
I think Ellis Shorts problem is he was sold an idea and never bought into it, I can imagine a desperate Quinn could sell you new windows even if you didn't have a ****ing house.. His lack of communication to the fans tells me he just basically doesn't know what to say anymore.. He probably will make a statement at sometime but for me he is a man with money but football doesn't really float his boat, a bit like me sponsoring a Baseball player..
Similarities extend to Villa a few years ago -a young team but woeful just like Shorts team - very concerned but I have seen a lot worse times pre Drummaville KTF
I think Short is between a rock and a hard place with our club. This time last year everybody's favourite DA was in a similar position and a fair few did not want Sam as manager for a variety of reasons but he turned into our saviour so that is alright. The previous managers during ES's reign were bombed out because of our position, nobody complained when we survived. In fact he has tried a variety of things looking for us to succeed but I don't think it has been lack of funding that has been the bother, only the acquisitions. DA missed out on some big money international signings because they either refused to come or failed a medical so the money was there but the attraction or other circumstances worked against us. Hardly his fault. Neither for a or against ES as one owner is much like another but we as a club have no commercial value, occasional Euro football revenue or any source of income to fall back on, so are relatively unattractive to players or buyers alike.
