He's been guilty of having the wrong football people at his side for long spells, that's all, they may as well blame Quinn for finding a buyer who doesn't know football and then feeding him terrible advice for 4 years. Pointless, in the past. Just people venting wanting to blame somebody. It could be worse, frustration has got one knobsack being openly racist on the match thread. <doh><laugh>

The man at the top has to take the blame for the failure of a company and rightly so.

This season is paramount. With the new tv deal gonna kick in next season. Short has to make the decision and make it now.

Spend some money and reap the rewards of bigger money next season.

Dont spend. And gamble that we stay in the league.

As I said he is partly to blame. Yes I realise it's the players who go out there on the pitch. But it's the chairman who sets the direction of the club: he chooses the director of football and keeps hold of the purse strings. He also picks the manager. These are not insignificant things;they can make or break a club.

Having said that I think he's finally made the
right choice in Dick. However it's worrying that Dick's making public appeals for a big signing.

With the sale of Wickham our net spend this close season is under £10m which considering our plight last term is woefully under invested in.

Do we have 2 or 3 game changing top class targets in the wings? I'm not convinced we have at all but I'll happily eat humble pie if we have. My problem is that everyone knew our shortcomings a year ago but now one week into the new season and with time running out, those shortcomings have not been addressed and we actually looked worse yesterday than last season. Anyone who isn't worried about our plight us living in denial.

Advocaat is a top class manager with a brilliant track record to boast about so of all the managers we've had, not to back this one with big investment would be scandalous. We don't need the likes of Mathews, Kaboul and Coates. We need far, far better.
