As I've said previously anyone who believed that Di Canio had no say in who was signed is been stupid or blinkered! Di Canio's ego wouldn't have let that happen.

Really? The man was incredibly humbled to be given a premiership opportunity and he came in on established terms as Di Fanti was at the club in January. From your point scoring post it's you with the ego<doh>. If I wanted to listen to an arsehole I'd fart.

How dare you, we don't sack **** managers, ours have no boundaries on how **** they are they keep their job

Sadly

QUOTE=ItalianStallion;5384405]Sick of the managerial merry go round

We are becoming what newcastle were

Next manager should be in for the duration of his contract

Fans of the team, not supporters, fans should put up and get on with it

Support the ****ing team, not have a go[/QUOTE]

Really? So why didn`t he get the players he asked for by name?
Instead he got 14 players in he didn`t ask for & lost the top players he wanted to keep.

Because you like the sound of your own voice you obviously enjoy listening to an arsehole!
As Di Canio said when he came he had full control over who we signed!

And I expect you'll provide me a quote and link? Cause if that's true, What are we paying Di Fanti for?

I just think that like me, Short could see the light at the end of the tunnel getting smaller and smaller. What else could he do to turn it around? It is almost certain that the axe come sooner or later, at least biting the bullet now, allows him to give the new manager as much time as possible to turn it around.

Not in so many words and what was that about De Fanti been in post since January.

“I will still spend 20 hours on the telephone or go to Milan to meet Roberto.

“I have many things to do.

“My family know what it is like and they may join me at some point. But I did that in League One or League Two (at Swindon) and the main job starts now.

“This club needs to take a massive step for everybody because we want to change everything here.”

Where does it say he has full control of transfers like? Nowhere

Ellis first introduced Di Fanti to MoN in January. Do you think the restructure of the club all happened in the week after the season finished? He joined in a official capacity in July. I don't need to trawl the net for a link because I'm right. Some lads on here will back me up if they see this as it was discussed on this very forum. <ok>

The whole highlighted passage just proves my point numb nuts Di Canio says himself he'll be in constant contact with Di Fanti says he's in control of who is signed and you wanted the link. Can't stand to be wrong can you!

Where in the highlighted comment does it say that.
Are you ****ing simple or what? How does it prove your point? Of course a head coach is going to be in frequent contact with his DoF over the transfer window <doh>. Go and look up what a DoF does and stop making a tit of yourself. double <doh><doh>

If Paolo had final say then Huddlestone would be at the club you daft knacker.

Look at the link I just posted soft lad! As I said so ****ing stupid you can't stand to be wrong!

I said as much a few weeks ago and was lambasted for it by some. This is exactly what Di Fanti and Angeloni have done for Short. We have built up a system that has allowed PDC to be moved on and a new manager brought in with minimal fuss and upheaval. Any new man may well have his own backroom staff but the framework remains intact. A change of emphasis not structure.

For me if its RDM and he brings the likes of Ray Wilkins as an assistant I'd be delighted. Quality people in place to work with a decent squad and we can move on from this in a heartbeat.

I can't stand Ray Wilkins as a commentator. But would ****ing love him on the staff at our club!! I'm gutted it didn't work for Di Canio but there is no way it was working the way he was doing things. Players looked beaten after they conceded a goal. Heads dropped against a team who had won 0 and only scored once all season

Post me and everyone the quote in that link that says he has full control of transfers? I'll paste it and you can reply with quote and highlight your claims. If anything he distances himself from your claim. <doh>

Paolo Di Canio insists he will get control of transfers at Sunderland, despite having the title head coach rather than manager.

The new boss says he chose to be called that because he is on the training ground every day with his players, and sees himself as “an educator”.

His first mission is to get the best out of the squad he *inherited from Martin O’Neill, which the Ulsterman described as “lacking real true quality”.

The hardest task will be getting the Black Cats back among the goals without their leading scorer Steven Fletcher, who is out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Di Canio is hoping to have a transfer kitty in the summer, despite Sunderland making a £27million loss in their latest accounts.

But should the club be relegated, spending will be put on hold and there will be massive cost-cutting and job losses.

“I said to the board, when they asked me if I wanted to be called manager, that I prefer to work on the field,” said the Italian, who was photographed at work with his squad on Wednesday.

“I’m a coach, I’m a teacher of football. It’s not an issue if I’m manager or not a manager. We decided head coach because I feel like a coach.

“I’m not a typical manager that has an assistant that does the coaching for him. I work with my players every single second on the training field, every single day during the week.

“I know how I want to play in the future and what system I want to use. I want to play attractive football and get in a better position than we are in now.

“In the future, when we’re talking about signing footballers, and for the system I’m going to use, then obviously I will ask for the players I want to have if it is possible, then I’ll hope to get them.”

Owner Ellis Short will shake up the backroom staff at the Stadium of Light, with a new emphasis on scouting for bargains in the summer.

Di Canio added: “I didn’t arrive here with a list of players I want to bring in because I can’t look that far ahead at this moment.

“Now my priority is to do the best job with the players I have and make them play the best they can because we need to get points. The future is the future, but we are not in a *position to think about the next transfer window. That would not be an *intelligent thing to do.”

Di Canio has brought in his Italian backroom staff after O’Neill’s coaches were axed on Tuesday, and he says he is in the job to build long term.

“Do I see here myself being here for a long time? Absolutely. I hope to stay here many years and to build *something *important. I would like to make history at this club.

“Obviously, right now, we have only the seven games to concentrate on. That is all that is important and I am convinced that if we do that and we do the right things, we will stay up.”

Meanwhile, after days of controversy over his political leanings, Di Canio issued a statement on Wednesday in which he denied being a racist and claimed he did not "support the ideology of fascism".

Di Canio was somewhat mildly backed by black Charlton manager Chris Powell last night, and has vowed to 'kick some bottoms' in order to keep Sunderland in the Premier League.

Your right mate, back him or sack him. You can't stand in the middle of the pitch with your hand in your pockets telling the fans to keep their chins up. Final straw.
