I'm honest enough to say that I don't really care, never happy when anyone is getting killed but like I alluded to yesterday I don't think there's anything I can do about it so I just carry on and try to live my life in an honest and caring way. No point me banging on about foreign politics as I don't really know enough about it to give an accurate opinion so I'll just shut up and maybe just poke people so that they go off on one and that I can have a chuckle.
For me, I've always been a bit of a historian and my views tend to stem from that. Plus acts of intolerance and injustice have always left a bad taste in my mouth - so I'll be happy to give my opinion on them - but I'm not an activist.
Broadly there are three categories of ‘pro-Palestine’ (anti-Israel if we’re being honest) ‘activist’. This is very much about society as a whole rather than anyone on here.
1) Those descending from the region or even just Muslims from anywhere which is absolutely fine and understandable. No different to Jewish people being 99% behind Israel whatever happens. Naturally I won’t agree with them but I get their view. There’s obviously a sub-category within that who are proper pro-Hamas / anti-West / just antisemitic but it’s important to make the distinction between those people and those with far more moderate views.
2) Anti-establishment wannabes, generally middle class, pretend social justice warriors who have decided the government is on Side A so they’ll be on Side B. Where the conflict is and between who doesn’t matter.
3) proper old school Jew haters. Some on the right but mostly we’re talking your Socialist Worker, self-declared “anti-racist” who has convinced themselves over decades that Jews control the world and various governments so this is a great outlet for them to froth about Jews under the cover of anti-Zionism. The PSC were organised and ready to protest by lunchtime on October 7th. They absolutely live for this ****.
A bonus fourth category for grifters who have used this to make money and get some level of fame online. Something I’d have some respect for if they didn’t secure the bag by encouraging frothing jew haters to froth but that is sadly what gets the most clicks and views.
Appreciate this ended up being a long post and therefore doesn’t deserve to be read.
Yeah thats why I am confused, because I am old enough to remember when it was the far right who hated Jews.

Those Jews just dont have a good time getting along with people huh.
Its almost as if the "Anti-Fascist" far left have gone so far left they have looped over and are sitting with the far right fascists.

Left-wing antisemitism has always been there. Now there’s an outlet for it to flourish and people don’t need to hide it. The right are more about them evil brown folk/just all Muslims now but still a bit knocking about. Nick Griffin was ranting about Jews at some point last year.
