Tbph I don't really care about anything to do with this budget, my only real thought is we don't have a party that's now stealng our taxes and giving it to their mates, so longer term, years down the line things can only improve. Not happy with all this compensation shhite that's being paid out though, £11.5B just for the blood scandal, oh do fook off.

Because the PO is only 1.5B....whereas the blood comp is 11.5B....but truth be known I'm moaning about both of them. Just I chose to moan about the much larger figure.

Lot's of injustices in life all around the world, yet people get a free health service and these days it's where there's blame there's a claim. I think if you agree to use a free health service you shouldn't be entitled to anything, go private instead and at least pay for it. I've had similar discussions with my own consultant, if things go tits up just don't wake me up. I'm a realist when it comes to life.

I doubt compensation gets taxed as a pure guess, although if it's passed onto the estate it might be a lower amount.

don't think so but this has been dragged out and you can't help but suspect there was a hope that most victims would be dead and the families may give up the fight .
If they had just offered decent compo when it first came to light it would have been so much cheaper

Like I said, if you use a free health service there should be no compo, if you want insurance go private. Lot's of injustices in life, most people have to suck it up and get on with it, much like getting sent to the front line against your wishes.

In a way i used to heavily agree here.

I think the compensation culture is crazy and doctors making mistakes.

The post office scandal was the higher ups systematically going after and criminalising innocent people. I'm more than happy for them to be compensated and would be far happier for those higher up to go to prison and have their assets confiscated.

I guess if you have been given a death sentence from a systematic issue like the blood scandals then maybe some compensation wouldn't go amiss but the stupid amounts being paid out i think shouldn't be that high.
