As an oppressed nation, bullied, supressed and having land stolen by their Neighbours, I think Ireland are in a very good position to understand the plight of Palestinians at the hand of the oppressor.
Besides, Cantona endorses it to, so it's basically Scripture .

So no injustice for you - therefore the deaths of over 11,000 children including over a thousand under a year old ... is justified?

Which feeds into my concerns which is how easy these regimes take control, often changing from more liberal freedoms, and how easy that is done when members of that regime have semi automatics in their hands and hold a nation as hostage to their male dominanat rules. An example on the latter would be Afghanistan where women now have no freedoms. Another example the restrictions placed on women in Iran, quote: In the misogynistic courtrooms of Iran, the legal testimony of a woman is worth half that of a man. — Bret Stephens. That does not mean things are perfect in the UK such as misogynistic behaviours, domestic violence and rape are still just as much an issue for our country as it is for the rest of the western world.
Not justified, but if you want to invoke some human feeling in others, maybe try living as something resembling human.

How interested in politics are you? - would you stand as a candidate in local elections?
I'm guessing you wouldn't ... neither would I - I'll vote in General Elections, complain about certain policies etc ... but overall I'm not that arsed and just getting on with my life and my families ...
My point being, the vast majority of Palestinians are no different - they just want to live rather mundane and uneventful family lives - they are not all religious nuts seeking martyrdom ... and the 30,000 dead civilians would likely never have posed any threat to Israel or to any Jewish person ...
The World's biggest problems are caused when ego and power go hand in hand ...
Again, I am not the most schooled person in the world when it comes to this conflict, but my understanding is that Israel are trying to destroy Hamas, Hamas rule Palestine and want to wipe out Israel and they have a nasty habit of putting their bases under schools and hospital so that when Israel bomb them, they have to kill hundreds of innocents in order to do so, and Israel usually give notice that they are going to bomb a certain area so that people can evacuate but Hamas force people to stay at gunpoint so that they are killed and Israel look worse.
Am not exactly "Team Israel" but my focus, if I wanted to solve this issue as an interested third party, would be to either incite rebellion amongst the Palestinian people to force Hamas out of power, or a joint effort with Israel and the West to put boots on the ground to overthrow Hamas and install a proper government for the Palestinian people, one that isnt interested in wiping out all Jews and committing Genocide. But thats just my layman take on it.
I dont agree with Israels policy of "Just keep bombing them till they give up, and damn the collateral damage" as fanatics are hardly likely to give up, and it just means civilian casualties just keep mounting up. So am no Israel fan either.

That’s without mentioning the sheer volume of Palestinian men that went to fight for ISIS and the amount of Palestinians men and women that were openly celebrating last October when the Israelis were slaughtered.
Now we are supposed to join the circus about the poor ‘innocent’ Palestinians.
They want to see the destruction of Israel no more or less than the Israelis want to see the end of Palestine.
How do you know they are no different? Plenty chose to take part in October 7th when the opportunity presented itself and polls of the population consistently show widespread support for Hamas.
Hamas as a military force is an armed militia ... those arms fundamentally consist of hand held automatic weapons and rockets, RPGs etc ... Israel has one of the most sophisticated modern armies in the world with 100s of fighter jets, thousands of heavily armoured vehicles and futuristic ballistic missile capabilities both aggressive and defensive (Iron Dome) that means it can more or less attack with impunity against those fighting against it ... as it very evident.
Whilst it is an abhorrent tactic no doubt, what alternative do Israel's opponents have to deter such capability?
This is not a 'fair fight' ... and Israel are not just 'stand up guys' waging war in 'the right way' - Israel has used human shields itself for decades ... they just tend to be Palestinians ...
Plenty? Less than one Israeli combat division...

If you mean me, every community, be it geographical or religion-based, thinks of themselves as 'special'. Ffs, I remember as a Dovecot teenager having fights with gangs from Page Moss over whose patch it was. And being of some Jewish heredity myself, and having several Jewish schoolfriends (one of them lifelong) it's hard to imagine any group that's clung on to its rituals and culture more than those (even more so than the Chinese, and that's some high bar to leap over). I'm up at my daughter's in 'Boro atm, and believe me, even they think they're 'special'.
As to the IRA - despite being CofE and coming from a family with several masons and Orange Lodge members (including my late father), I've always been ideologically supportive of a united Ireland: it's hard to look at its history and not be persuaded so, imo. I challenge you to find ONE quote where I have supported the IRA or any men of violence though. I'm 100% more McCartney than Lennon on that one.

And I’m from Watford and definitely don’t think that community is special, at least in that way.
Ah, okay. Why QPR if you're from Watford may I hypocritically ask, considering my daughter is from York, but supports Liverpool?
