How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters
    23
It will probably go something like...

Starmer: You've had 14 years

Sunak: Your costings don't add up

And around in circies they will go. I think we need a checklist of words that will be used during it.

My mum and dad's chemist has got to be in there surely....

NHS
Tax
National Service
Energy
Boats
Ukraine
Israel

I'm bored already.
The plan is working
Difficult decisions
Securing britains future
They Have no plan
I was such a nice guy during covid

Was bored of his regurgitations weeks ago tbh

Such a shame when he rolls his sleeves up to meet people at a factory or whatever and they’ve been told beforehand they’ll be sacked if they call him a ****.

He and his whole party are a bunch of repugnant piss taking scoungers.

Cant wait til they're gone

Honestly even in the Blair years pre-97 with all the changes the party felt Labour regardless of the rebrand. There were ppl in there who represented enough socialist values but done with sound economic stability. This right now, I'm beginning to wonder wtf they stand for. And tbh they're just taking my vote and many others like me, for granted.

The funny thing is I heard ppl saying this a month or two ago and I pushed back against it. But now I'm changing my mind. I'm genuinely beginning to wonder who else is out there to offer any choice.

I agree with Archers that what matters is what they do once they get into power. But I have a feeling they'll be walking over broken glass all the way to placate social media and the press.

That is the problem with politicians now and not only in our country

I am almost hoping for a hung Parliament where hopefully only things the country as a whole needs will be implemented, wishful thinking maybe

We need Proportional Representation in this country, but we’ll only get it if enough people demand it. Which is unlikely in a nation of forelock tugging serfs, but there you go.

He was down my way yesterday hiding out at a railway depot pretending to a man who represents the workers

Nobody was told about his visit, kept hush hush because otherwise the folk of the people's republic of west cornwall would have shown up and given him ****

I'm more disappointed about the covert nature of his visit however as Ione Wells came down to cover it and I could have taken her surfing afterwards

Well the surreptitious way Labour are handling the Diane Abbott issue is going swimmingly well.
Tough and unfair decisions have been made by Starmer since he took over the Labour party. He knew what was needed to drag Labour back to power and who was holding them back. Corbyn and Abbott were a huge problem for many Labour voters and he’s won them all back by getting rid of the ‘problems’. Is momentum still a thing? Never hear about them these days.

I like him.

Neither were part of Momentum. Momentum probably are still lurking somewhere.

As for the way he's handled the Abbott, he's basically been moulded by what he thinks the right wing he's trying to covet want which means he's not making the difficult decisions at all. He's coming across as weak and having no real belief in much tbh.

Anyway the way they're handling it is a ****show and it's no surprise.

Saw the historic news footage of Diane Abbott first getting elected yesterday ... is it really the same woman? Looks nothing like the current one <yikes>

No, but momentum were backing them up and they were a thorn in the side for the party. As were/are Corbyn and Abbott.

I don’t see it as weak. He could have just continued letting the same people drag the party down but he made tough decisions and judging by the polls, they’ve been the right decisions.

There's one thing you can be sure the media will do and that's always to look for the worst possible photo of Abbott, ok yeah, yeah they got thousands to choose from. Much like we often see on here, people belittling someone in the public eye they don't agree with.

It doesn't show anything of the sort. They were 25 points ahead in the polls anyway <laugh>

The only reason is a fear of how the press would've jumped on this if they'd let her back in and how that might've played with the right who dislike her. I don't see how fear is strength.

Just to add Abbott was the first black MP and been so for 37 yrs and worked tirelessly and with honesty for her constituency. Not many we can say that about these days. She's been treated without much respect or dignity given her years of service.

Labour were not 25 points ahead in the polls when Starmer suspended Corbyn. They’d just suffered one of the biggest ever GE defeats with Corbyn and Abbott front and centre of the party.

A lot of Labour voters I know seen Abbott and Corbyn as a big problem and will be glad to see the back of them both. Whether it’s fair or not, it’s right for the party and future government that people like them are nowhere near.

To be honest I haven’t read much about it but it sounds like they wanted to restore the whip and give her the chance to retire with dignity probably followed by the Lords. Feels a bit like people with their own agenda about Labour jumping on this to make it a bigger thing than it should be.

You can’t deny her history and undoubtedly she’s popular with her constituency- I’d guess not as popular as she once was given how that area is changing but still popular- but she’s a bit of a liability in the grand scheme of things.
