How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

Yeah I've always had an ehic/ghic but would never rely on that on its own.

Exactly Libby. Many people use to get stumped because they'd go abroad in the knowledge health care is free, then run into all sorts of obstacles, especially when they couldn't get back home. I had to be flown home in a light aircraft which had doctors onboard (medic flight), it would have cost me my house if I hadn't taken out my £10 insurance, but saying it's free is misleading to people, then you hear about the horror stories and the fund raising pages to help get them home.

There was a girl down here whose family had set up a go fund me, because she had a moped accident in Thailand and smashed herself up badly.

She had travel insurance, but she did not have a moped licence so she wasn’t covered. She needed an operation and broken bones fixing etc and the bill was something like £80k. The family were saying it was unfair that they’d been saddled with such a huge bill and they were upset that their daughter wasn’t treated until they’d paid at least £20k up front.

I felt for the family, and kids will be kids taking risks on holiday. But ultimately they were responsible for that bill

Yeah it's madness. People just assume that it won't happen to them until it does. No sympathy tbh.

When I took nipper to Morocco I made sure to get cover which included quad biking as the last thing I wanted was for him to break his arm coming off a quad bike in the desert and not be covered for it.

Cost just over double what a 'normal' level of cover did but worth every penny.

Youngest went to Mallorca couple of weeks back - cost me £27 with LVIC for their Premium cover - blanket on everything and only invalid if travelling against Home Office advice...

'Emergency medical cover and repatriation' - £10million!

Had same policy when middle girl went to Vietnam and Cambodia a year ago...

Yeah I meant the insurance cover is free. I think it’s down to the county’s rules about whether you have to pay or not, but it entitles you to the same level of cover as a resident.

Benefits of leaving the EU :bandit:

Has it been delayed again or is this the seven month delay announced in January? Not that I’d doubt the credibility of HJB News.
Not sure, what I'm sure of is the Southport riots peeps were hauled before a court in days and jailed.

Thats what I know

I blame pinkie and Fosse for this

I think this card has replaced the old EHIC, but it's only down to negotiations to keep reciprocal healthcare benefits for EU and UK citizens that we've kept it. The hard brexiteers wanted to bin everything off and have nothing to do with the EU at all

Like I said, I've got that card, I've had that replacement card for about 3 years (2022).

Rishi sunak couldn't use contactless.

Levels

Camilla queen of the house of Buck or whatever she's called bought some stuff from me at a show once. She didn't know what to do when I asked her for payment and one of her aides quickly shuffled in and whipped out a Coutts & Co card.

England good = everything free

France no good = tent city

Hmmm

I’ve got one of these. They are free and they entitle you to state healthcare in Europe and a lot of countries aligned with the UK. It entitles you to the same level of cover that a resident of that county gets.

But I always take out travel insurance and I agree it should be mandatory.

Disgraceful. Giving benefits to people who can't even fuking ask for them in English. UK is a joke
used to watch Poles come into the jobcentre regularly and on a number of occasions saw ones who couldn't speak english leave having got a job after a friend/acquaintance translated for them .
Presume they then went to the tax office to claim working tax credits .though
