OH SH1T ! ‏@OptaJoe 40% - 40% of Southampton’s goals this season have been headers – the highest proportion in the top-flight. Nuts.
A win of any sort, convincing if possible. The alternative is unthinkable. Plus my 16 year old son has NEVER seen us win 'in the flesh' in the premiership - missed our run last season as he was on crutches after a rugby injury, and the investment in STs has obviously not delivered. They OWE him a win, and me, I'm sick of the drive back with a miserable, monosyllabic teenager.
Let's forget Hughes' squad balancing issues, there's still that luck factor that's stopped our more forward players from scoring sitters in recent games. With a defence as bad as Saints there's every chance of goalS coming from Trapped, Granero AND Hoilett - if not Cisse. OR knowing our luck over the years, their defence will finally find form - and some debutante will end up scoring the winner for them!
The key for us is to actually not be afraid to commit players forwards and attack with speed. We have not done that nearly enough this season.
Not the first time I've said this, but this game has own goals written all over it, in every sense of the word(s). We'll get more than we receive, and wonder how that happened.
MH sets the team up not to lose. That's a fact. Only chance is if the players know he will get sack, they don't give a flying f*** about his 'tactics' and just play.
I think a comprehensive 4 - 1 win, we have got the quality, they have to pull it together at some point, don't they...
Always been my biggest problem with him, going back to last season, he's such a negative bastard. It's not so much losing that pisses me off. I'm used to that, it's the not having a FcKing go(unless we're 2-0 down!) He's a dour taff twat and his team is a mirror image. And that is my Daily Hughes #HICC
Basement side #QPR host second from bottom Southampton on Saturday in the proverbial 'six-pointer' at Loftus Road. http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/261677/preview
