Yeah that was a tad harsh, apologies.

And in response to Yid Vicious. I wasnt necessarily saying that the penalties were lucky or werent true penalties, I just meant that if you had been slightly unluckier and not been awarded them, your place in the table would be far more worse. Those two moments have glossed over some of the early troubles your squad has had at adapting.

That's a good analogy, and when defensive coaches become head coaches, they often play a defensively oriented strategy, and vice versa, as you'd expect.

I recall someone (probably Spurcat) saying he only worked three or four days a week.

Really, what can an offensive coach do in week apart from going through the "same old, same old"!
Do what they did in the "old days"! Give 'em a ball each and a brick wall with a goal marked on it then get them to keep whacking the ball at the goal WITH BOTH FEET!

Just bumping this up for Thursday, it is a source of groan these games, but its the best opportunity this season to see Spurs actually score a goal...depends what floats yer boat!

    KO. time is 8.05pm

We should start a side that weren't involved against Everton for this one, where possible.

Friedel; Naughton, Kaboul, Chiriches, Rose/Fryers; Capoue, Dembele; Lamela, Eriksen, Sigurdsson; Defoe.
Adebayor, Kane, etc. on the bench.

    For me -

    -----------------Friedel-----------------

    Naughton--Kaboul--Chiriches--Fryers

    ------------------Capue----------------

    -------------Holtby--Lamela-----------

    Lennon-----------Ade-------Siggurdsen

Coming up to January Ade needs game time so that he can show teams that he does know where the net is.

Sub him off around 60mins for Kane.

We need more creativity in the middle, so for me a 4-3-3 is more ambitious than 4-2-3-1, I'd love for the middle men to be CE and Holtby but with the games coming thick and fast atm I just don't think it's feasible, and Paulinho needs a rest.

Lamela looked quite good (for him) in the middle last week, and with some natural width from lennon, and gylfi's ability to get goals I think this would be a potent team, able to keep posession, and give service to the striker.

(I would like to see Ade on his way though, to free up the wages and squad spot for either Kane or another. As well as friedel and Gomes gone in place for a serious under study to Lloris, and also Archer there as well)

    Friedel,
Naughton, Kaboul, Chiriches, Fryers (if fit, otherwise play Naughton LB with Walker RB)
    Capoue, Bentaleb
    Lamela, Sigurdsson, Kane
    Defoe

Will be pretty pissed if Eriksen starts as that'll indicate to me that Holtby will be selected again in the league over him, which I think is a joke.

I'd rather the opposite. I think our normal starters, out of the attacking players, could do with some extra game time against an easier team to get some goals and build up their confidence. Europa League games shouldn't be knackering them, especially if Tiraspol set up so defensively again. I'd also like us to try Holtby and Eriksen in the same side. I'd put Lewis on the left because unlike most number 10s he actually seems to like getting involved in the general scrap of the game and I can see him and Eriksen working well together.

    I'd try:

Friedel; Naughton, Kaboul, Chirches, a fit left back; Dembele, Capoue; Lennon, Eriksen Holtby; Soldado.

I've no idea :D AVB says Rose will be back at the start of every week but then we find out just before our game that he's not and I don't think I've read anything about Fryers' injury. I really think Vertonghen should be rested so if we have any fullbacks knocking around in the youth ranks then we should just play them, I'm not even bothered whether if we concede a load of goals or not, just hoping that we show a bit of invention in attack.

Rose was supposedly 90% ready to play Chelsea so god knows what's happened there.

Vertonghen definitely needs/ deserves a rest and I reckon AVB will leave him out vs Sheriff.

I don't know who our youth LB is, I usually take a lot of interest in the academy but I've been slacking this season!

Maybe just go 3 at the back if no full backs available?

Given how they played at home, expect a repeat performance at WHL.
AFAIK the U21s have no specialist LB if Fryers is out.
Hope Baldini is on the case for the next transfer window.
