would you rather have stayed in the CL till the last 16 or 1/4 stage and not been the 1st holders to go out in the group stage
or have won the EL and qualified for next seasons CL

EL for me

EL. Winning trophies is what it's all about. Only because of hindsight though.

However if you offered me last 16 without knowing who progresses I'd happily take that gamble.

Exactly.

But on hindsight its been great to make history and win the last european trophy we'd yet to win.

Hoepfully next year we will get out the group though!! To be fair, it was a tough group and City twice and United have faltered in the last 2 years to. Arsenal always seem to get pub teams in their group.

As a one off maybe, but not again, even with foresight. We came we saw we conquered - no need to go back if it can be helped. CL latter stages is where our home is.

Exactly. We have created the history so now lets stick to the CL and go create a little there.

What I wish means nothing, but we won the EL and qualified for CL. Considering the appalling mess we made for ourselves, about as good as could be expected.
If only we could go one season without shooting ourselves in the foot, there's no limit to what we could achieve.
