Haha I'm seemingly a very good atrocious gambler - only bet five times and up on the bookies by £570 - record is won 4 times lost once

But that is what I was saying in another thread, Wood gets himself in the right places more often than anyone else we have.

Quality. Will be a massive plus.
At fault for the goal but Monk should have subbed him 5 mins before when he came over to the bench and looked knackered.

Which is why we need to create a lot of chances, he is a championship forward so might score one in three / four. Let's face it mccontract went for 12-14 million and he's barely finished top half with any club. Wood has stilled scored more than new Ant who is still enjoying a honeymoon period.

So we won, we played 4-2-3-1, our man at the game reports Jannson and O'Kane were class and Wood scores again.

Just hope the injuries are not serious

Seems like Wood changed the game. Got a simple tap in (best goals for a striker to get) and worked hard to get us a free kick. Fair play to the lad.

That's what I said, stick it on his boot and there's a good chance he'll score.........sometimes, but the rest of his abilities are questionable.

His goal, thanks to Sacko contributed to our win, but he's got to do it every game, not every 3 or 4 games, and he's got to do it from open play, with his head and make his own goals occasionally instead of having someone put it on his boot. He's not that good in my opinion.

I'm still not convinced a single striker is our best option either. We had a defender contribute to the score line.

Let's see after the next few games.......:emoticon-0148-yes:

Where strikers are concerned Wood was cheap. Many agree on here that to get better you need to spend the kind of money we don't have.

Antonnson by all accounts hardly touched the ball in his hour and at this level you're not going to find many strikers who can score 1 in 2/3 attempts or who can go on mazy runs from 40 yards out. If you do Premier League clubs will snap them up.

Prior to this game when Wood scored he cupped his ears, the pressure of the fans obviously plays on him, he is a confidence player. He gets an unfair amount of stick from too many fans. He out scored Antenucci, he is and he will out score Antonsson.

He isn't the divisions best striker, I wish we had better but compared to the likes of Paynter, Morison, Erwin, Hunt and Doukara he ain't bad.

I remember Ross and Becchio going on droughts of 8+ games, it happens

Wood scored today, he won the free kick that created the second. We actually scored from a set piece because we have Wood, Bartley and Jannson all giants and causing confusion.

Didn't see the goal but would like to know who was marking Wood that left Bartley clear, finally it shouldn't be all down to Wood to score, in a 4-2-3-1 the three behind Wood need to be accountable and chip in too.

Honestly - I signed up for Coral and got a £5 joining bet for scum to win a corner at 5-1 at a game back when Moyes was manager - and bet £10 of the winnings on Leeds against Bournemouth away in play when we were a goal down to win and was about to bet again just as we equalised and was so annoyed missed good odds that bet another a tenner on Leeds to win 3-1 and so with both bets won about £500 - realised how lucky I'd been so decided not to bet again until took a punt on England to beat wales at 4-1 when we were a goal behind - then my losing bet was on us coming back against Iceland
