It was supposed to be edited but never was I believe. And yes it was taken out of circulation but i believe it wasnt destroyed. those reading were reading the original version and as for vast majority, I believe most of the reading/learning took place in churches/monastries etc and it was still available there.
I don't know anyone that believes in a god and is anti-god. I doubt that you do, either. Knowledge clearly isn't required. If somebody has never heard of religion or god, then they are an atheist, as they have no belief in any deities.
Not necessarily, people from all ages 'learned' to worship something However, hypothetically i see what you are saying. I would not include that person necessarily as an athiest. as the concept wouldnt exist
Any atheist that's given it some serious thought will know that you cannot disprove the existence of god, as it doesn't mean the same thing to different people and the definition given in a lot of cases is intentionally unfalsifiable. They wouldn't be aware of the fact that they were an atheist, but they still would be one.
I don't believe in God, and think that most religions are ridiculous. If there is an all-powerful God, surely he wouldn't be so vain and petty as to demand that his followers pray to him 5 times a day? Or that they eat bits of wafer and tell all their secrets to a priest. Or that they should slice part of their baby's penis off. However if there is a God, he must be a bit of a ****er. Either that or completely powerless, otherwise why not get the world sorted out. That's my two penn'orth anyway
I must admit, I've never understood circumcision from a religious standpoint. Why did god supposedly create this creature and then say, "Oops, I forgot to take that bit off. Do it for me, will you?"
A lot of the rules in religions are ridiculous: No alcohol No pork No beef No foreskin No birth control No cutting hair/beard No full length pants
No alcohol No pork No beef No foreskin No birth control No cutting hair/beard No full length pants or you could do what most muslims do and disobey most of them??
No pre-marital sex is pretty much standard in most religions. I think that marijuana is haraam in Islam, but it's not against the tenets of Christianity or you wouldn't have rastafarians.
can I just say this is what i mean by 'not understanding' religion, even by followers of that religion. Not aimed at you PNP by the way The issue of marijuana is one that fits under the 'no intoxication rule' so the a no no with most religions
I don't think that most religions do have a no intoxication rule, TFWNN. Historically speaking, a lot of them had the complete opposite.
