That was my impression - not the politics, but rather he'd been coached with/without PR line. Very effective cos it all sounds like common sense, but you have to see that he's just describing the 'process'. It's like it all just happened. What I don't get is that Ehab has the nous to have done all this.
after what - he's done **** all - has he binned 'Hull Tigers' - has he apologised for saying we could die - has he reintroduced concessions for the disabled, oaps and the kids - can we have our seats back - I know we got a free mince pie but seriously - he needs to do something first for something constructive to happen
If Hiho is such an impressive fella, maybe he can get through to Ehab that actually he needs that support
I wasn't sure if I could stomach watching this, but decided to give it a go. Some thoughts; 1. We need to stop using that ridiculous 1980s, whitewashed-denim/headbanging HM* soundtrack on videos. It's naff. 2. He gave an explanation into why recruitments are often late in windows. Might be true, might not, appreciate the info in any case. 3. He appears to genuinely be a little in awe of Marco. I am pleased about this, and I hope it doesn't descend like relationships with some of our previous managers. I think he's been a bit surprised how impressive Marco is, and quite honestly, it is more out of luck than judgment in my honest opinion. Anyhow, he is here, and he could dig you out the dirt - don't **** this up! 4. He's clearly restraining himself a bit, but at times I may even have detected some humble moments. Maybe I'm going soft. 5. I'm really glad that spotty teenager isn't doing this interview. Much more professional, but the new kid is obviously just some southern, media studies graduate type who will no doubt be a reporter on Kent News in a few months or so. 6. I think the interview is partially motivated by the David Conn article where he suggested the Allams are aiming to run at a £40m surplus this year. I think he wanted to champion his investments whilst also explain the appeal of loans. Make up your own mind on that logic as TWT I suppose. 7. He said it's important that the fans give the team and Marco their support, and they're staying away to help this. Fine. I think he could achieve that 100% by putting out a short statement confirming that the club will once again be embracing the Hull City identity, and by restoring concessions. Maybe he's getting there, or maybe it's just a short term ruse to kick the issues into the long grass. Again, TWT. 8. I didn't hear anything about meeting with fans groups, maybe I missed it, but don't think so. If there's an olive branch, it needs to be there. Overall, I'm glad he's seen the need to speak directly to us - more of this please. I'm not convinced by it completely, but I am trying to keep an open mind. There is still work to do, maybe there is a glimmer of hope that it can happen. It would be good for everyone for this identity limbo and concession flub to come to an end, so here's hoping. But I want it concrete before I start to trust him with my modest amount of £s again. *Heavy metal
I think he has done something. He has explained they are not asset stripping the club to repay their debt. Admittedly he is saying something similar to what I wrote weeks ago. He's also suggesting something may happen over the other issues tearing our club apart. I agree with you that this requires him to talk to supporters. He may be tempted to exclude the Trust and other supporters who have opposed him in the past but, in my view that would be a mistake. If we are going to lance the boil then all supporters groups should be involved. I see this as a first step. He now has to make the second step and agree to talk to us to hopefully solve the problems which are obvious to all.
Some people are easily swayed by a few soothing words, even those coming out of a slimy mouth more used to calling fans "irrelevant". When he actually shows some conciliation with actions, like using our proper name on social media, I might then consider he's serious in offering an olive branch. Until then I'll continue to view him as a lying, arrogant weasel who I wouldn't trust with a mop.
Whats done is currently done!!!!!....... what needs to happen now is for MS to be allowed to do what we all want him to do. As MS said in his interview, his first concern is for the team and premiership status, the 'other things can be dealt with later'. He's as aware as all of us, but will pay them no attention, only asking the fans show their support of the team as loudly as possible. If we maintain that status, the option is more likely then for a sale of the club, especially with MS at the helm and a vastly improved playing staff and indeed style of play. Anything related to olive branches and discussion at this stage, IMHO would thoroughly detract from the job in hand and that continues tomorrow.
Excellent piece of PR - he / they really have got a good company in now (I thought this with his last 'statement' - no crayons or anything!) - Does come across very well , reasonable tone & timber / pace of voice almost coached ... tie not to tight , button nearly loose - just needed a 'pint of real ale' Farage-esque , nice shots of the KCooooommmmmmmm in the background * - was it really that sunny today ! ? Answers 'all of the questions' of the 'critics ' (on here) in advance with no awkward comebacks - almost helpful questions to elicit staged answers Thought it was funny when he mentioned Silva's tactics, training techniques & focus e.g. on diet then camera moved to Myler - what had he been eating previously whilst making those YouTube video's ... * Very slick - could almost believe it was a 'one take piece of genuine olive branch' if only the position of the sun in the background moved back & forth on the seats in the background Yes I'm cynical - I'll wait for the apologies / actual dialogue. Ehab for President
The man is a proven liar. As recently as three weeks ago when he said "We're not a selling club". Actions not words. Can't believe people put any value on his soundbites, Let me repeat that. "Actions not words".
****ing hell From you that's brilliant. The original Mr All Talk and No Bollocks. I bet Carmine is laughing so much at that he can't type.
Did he also say they did not suit Marco's style and he talked with Marco about them, also Marco had the final say on who he did not need or who he wanted.
All he has to say is we're sorry for trying to change the name of the club, and we're sorry we took concessions away. Next season we will be called Hull City on all of our social media and news. You will be able to sit where you like and concessions for young and old will be back. Takes about 10 seconds to say, it's completely rational and sensible - and most of the fans would be back onside Simples
I don't want someone who is clinical from freekicks outside the box, I want someone who ****s it up - is that it
I can't remember him saying that or Marco come to think of it. Maybe Marco thought he ain't got the speed i could get someone who can play this way score goals and suit our style, plus i offload a player with a dodgy knee at 30 years old and get 10 mill for players i want, dunno just a thought.
