Lots of people go to Egypt into these fancy complexes but outside of them it's a dive. I've refused to go there a few times when Mrs luv has suggested it.

Yeah I know loads of people that have been, it's a resort holiday tbh. Not sure I'd fancy sitting by a pool all day. I prefer going down town to the bars and mingling with the locals.

I like to wander about as well as relaxing and Egypt does offer that but I've read so many bad reviews of tourist locations like the pyramids saying that there is rubbish everywhere and it's a real let down. I've been to the tree of life in Bahrain and it had actually been vandalised and spray painted, rubbish everywhere, it was just a tree, but this is the advertising...

Looks like the tree in my neighbours garden tbh.

Also it looks nothing like those idiots that have the tree of life tattooed on them.

Wouldn't bother going anywhere in Africa on holiday, ****ing scruffy dump. If you manage to eventually find somewhere that looks like paradise chances are you'll get your head ripped off by a lion. Great.

That doesn’t look worth visiting in the first photo either.

Probably a good time to get some cheap deals to Egypt. Always wanted to see the pyramids, but really don't fancy dealing with huge crowds in oppressive heat.

Maybe I'll wait til a few more hotels have been targeted by **** terrorists. Should be well cheap then and not too many tourists.

I wouldn't be put off by scare stories about Egypt. I know there's been some high profile terrorist incidents, but to be honest it's no more dangerous than London on that front. Also it's a **** load cheaper and the weather is better <ok>

I agree. I was speaking half in jest, but I really wouldn't be put off going to Egypt - or Turkey for that matter, another country whose tourism industry has been affected by scares of that nature.

Nice little self catering apt in Mogadishu maybe ?

<laugh> Can't be any worse than Portsmouth...

Yeah Portsmouth is a dive, especially down near the docks. Mogadishu is honestly somewhere I'd love to visit, but at the moment you're quite likely to end up either getting shot or kidnapped.

We were there about 7 or 8 years ago in Namaa Bay(?) Off season and nice and quiet.

We went on a snorkelling and barbeque trip out. Got back to the hotel, threw up and had convulsions in the bathroom. Put the mokka's on the last few days eating soft foods.

Wouldn't stop me going back but the missus has said never again.

I just wouldn't eat the salads or chicken from a barbie!!

All the salads in our hotel were 100% certified having been washed in bottled water but never ate BBQ whilst there.
